1st Amendment, Constitution as a weapon

Norman Solomon on Book TV this weekend mentioned that the only aspect of big business protected in the constitution is that of the media. I recall when newscorp, disney et. al were pushing for massive deregulation a few years ago, they'd constantly cite their 1st ammendment rights to buy up all the media in the world, although the things they were engaging in really weren't related to the first amendment. Just found this interesting and think it is worth keeping in the back of ones mind.
