    Bayh Retires, Hostettler for Senate!

    htt p://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/senate/evan-bayh-to-retire.html?hpid=topnews

Indiana has the chance to select a constitutional conservative for Senate, John Hostettler!

We need a sub thread up.

Currently it's Hostettler vs. Coats vs. Stutzman for the R nomination.

Expect to see other jump in though...

Mike Pence might jump in now that the coast is clear. Edit: Nope, he's not.

Does Pence have time to get on the ballot?

This is AMAZING news for Hostettler.

There's no way for Pence to do it. The establishment has to stick with Dan Coats.

This is great news! Folks, I can't emphasize strongly enough, we absolutely must rally behind Hostettler. He stands a real shot at beating Coats. And the winner of the Republican primary is now likely to become Indiana's next senator.

I agree, this race has just become our 2nd most important in 2010. We have an opportunity to get another good Republican in, it should be top priority and we need build alliances with other sites like maybe Redstate, freerepublic?

Redstate chief endorsed Marlin Stutzman, the state senator.

Stutzman takes the mainstream republican position on every issue.

That's fine, keep Erick Erickson out it, Hostettler has much better name recognition, and has the potential of outflanking Coats AND Stutzman by going directly to a national donor base.

Mike Pence will definitely not enter the race, especially now that Bayh is out, who he was beating in an independent poll.

Coats will be a tough primary challenge, but I can't help but think the Democratic Party will institute another candidate like Coats on their side to beat any opposition.

We have nothing to fear that should cause us to forget or relinquish our rights as free men and women. To thrive, we must believe in ourselves again, and we must never, never trade our liberty for any fleeting promise of security." - Rand Paul

This one democrat is closing in on enough signatures. It would be good if she got enough because she would automatically be the nominee. And she's a nobody.

If anyone is in Indiana (especially 8th district/Hostettler's old on) they need signatures.

    Signature form is here: http://ow.ly/17yRC

Turn into county clerk's office by noon tomorrow.
