Thumbs up Brian Miller For U.S. House Of Representatives: Arizona's 8th Congressional District

Okay, so a while ago we learned that there was some poser named Jesse Kelly running in Arizona's 8th District as a "pro-war libertarian". But there's another candidate seeking the Republican nomination and he's been picked up by the big February 17th money bomb as one of the 28 non-incumbents. He definitely appears to be a lot better than Kelly.

    -Afghanistan War Veteran
-Senior Pilot in the U.S. Air Force at Davis-Monthan AFB
-Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Northern Arizona University (represent!) in 1998
-Has a wife & two sons

“I am running for Congress because the 2010 election will be the most critical in a generation. Will we surrender our economy and the future of our country to the whims of politicians, or will we rely on the ingenuity of millions of free people?”

    -Supports Audit The Fed
-”Government’s responsibility is to provide the necessary climate for the free exchange of goods and services. Such a climate includes a strong, sound currency which is not continuously devalued by a powerful, unelected, and virtually unaccountable central bank. ”
-Far lower taxes, far lower regulations
-On foreign policy: “We must only fight properly declared wars of self-defense and not engage in nation-building and international social engineering.”
-Wants to lower the cost of health care through interstate market competition in the health
insurance industry and also by establishing Tax-Exempt Medical Savings Accounts
-Abolish the 16th Amendment, replace with FairTax*
-Quotes Thomas Jefferson: “that government is best which governs least.”
-Increased border security. No amnesty, no anchor babies, no welfare for illegals. Create a market based system that will help poor legal immigrants get a head start in the state.
-Decrease dependency on foreign oil by increasing nuclear power. Alternative/green energy is okay as long as it's market-run, not government-run.

*the best option would be to not replace it with another tax but it's better than what we have now.

"With respect to the words 'General Welfare', I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators." - James Madison, 1831

    Default Yes!

Thanks for mentioning Brian. I am supporting him already and doing everything I can, but we need help! Ron Paul should be announcing his endorsement any day. Also, check out the video of him on Freedom Watch this week: http://video.foxnews.com/v/4010555/a...-race-heats-up
Please do everything you can to spread the word. He is not just running against Jesse Kelly, but also a State Senator who votes against the constitution and for more regulation of business. So it will be a battle, but the people in this district really respect Brian for his dedication to the constitution.

    Default Brian Miller

Adam Kokesh just recommended Brian Miller on Facebook. I checked him out and added him. He already has a lot more support then the other guy. Ron Paul has endorsed him and he has around 1300 more supporters on Facebook.

I can't Make This Stuff Up - Gabrielle Gifford's Stupid Question....

Posted by: Vernon in Virginia~Formerly Alaska

You will simply not believe this. Our 8th District US Congressional representative, the Hon. Gabrielle Giffords, in a meeting of the House Armed Services Committee, asked General David Petraeus the following question:

"General Petraeus, what are you doing to reduce carbon emissions in the war on terror?"

Wow. I had to read, and re-read this several times to believe it. Folks, there are American sons & daughters dying every week on the foreign battlefields of southwest Asia. The nation is completely bankrupt and - quite literally, borrowing 43 cents for every dollar in federal spending. We have the largest environmental disaster in the nation's history in the Gulf of Mexico, and we have Mexican drug armies invading our nation. And yet ...

A member of Congress from Arizona 's 8th congressional district took the time to ask our battlefield commander what he is doing to curb carbon
    emissions in the war.

Gabrielle Giffords is the poster-child for what is wrong with the US Congress. We are being led by imbiciles. To the rest of America reading this blog, and to Gen. Petraeus if this e-mail makes it to your inbox - my
sincerest apologies for the stupid question asked of you by my US congressional representative. General - I am sure you have better things to worry about than carbon emissions on the battlefield. I assure you, as a
registered voter in Arizona 's 8th congressional district, I will do everything I can to ensure Rep. Giffords is voted out of office in November, and I pray you'll get back to business of fighting the war on terror without worrying about such petty and nonsensical matters as your carbon footprint in the war.

Default Brian Miller (R-CD8) suspends campaign

For Immediate Release: August 11, 2010

(Tucson, Arizona) Brian Miller announced at an event this evening that he will be suspending his campaign for Congressional District 8. Brian Miller, a Constitutional conservative Republican, ran his campaign on a platform of limited government, individual freedom, and peace through strength.

Brian Miller released this statement: “Though we have run a tremendously successful grassroots campaign on a limited budget, at this point I do not have the funds to continue this race. My competitors have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising – and it is impossible for me to make up that gap. We are looking to the future, and I believe the only candidate who can beat Gabrielle Giffords in November is Jonathan Paton.

“I want to thank all of my supporters and volunteers from the bottom of my heart. This has not been as easy decision for me, but I think it is best. I will not give up the fight for the Constitution and freedom, because this is an ongoing battle – for me, my family, and all Americans.”

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Brian Miller has suspended but not officially withdrawn votes for Miller will still be counted. I will be following the results to see what Miller gets come August 24th.

I fail to see based on Paton's web site any particular reason why Miller would chose to endorse Paton over Kelly - perhaps time will tell.
