We all sit back and do nothing. I have been calling the campaign for weeks now trying to get them to send out one little simple email telling people of the early deadline in NY (October 12). They did nothing. More than a week ago, NH closed its primaries and made the deadline to switch parties October 12. Again, I called the campaign and begged them to contact their own members with this info. Nothing.
I tried again, and again and again. Nothing. We are almost out of time and a good portion of Ron Paul supporters in NY and NH do not know they will not be able to vote for this man! I know, I have spoken to a lot of them lately. His own supporters don't know the rule change or the early deadline and are putting this off.
It is way too late to gain new supporters, but is it too much to ask to keep the ones we already have?
I called the campaign today and Brandon who answered the phone told me that the info is on the Ron Paul website and that is all they need to do about informing the people, if the people are too stupid to check it on their own, then that is their problem! Can you believe it? I know he is just a dumb kid answering the phones, but I cannot get anything sent out.
I have called nearly every day now for the past 9 days. Some calls were made weeks ago. Made 11 calls total. And still nothing. All I am asking for is an email to all of Ron Paul supporters telling them of this early deadline and that in NY you must be a Republican to vote for Ron Paul, if you are an Ind. you won't be able to. In NH if you were an Ind last federal election and voted for a dem, they automatically changed you to a Democrat. So, people who think they are Inds must check.
If they would have sent out these emails when I begged then the rest of us would have realized that NH and NY are in trouble and would have risen to the occasion. As it is now, we have no time to do anything at all. And still the campaign stays mum.
Would you please, if you care about this campaign, call HQ and try to get them to send out that simple email to all? If they only target folks in NY and NH, they might miss some and they miss the opportunity to remind all of us to become Republicans before our state pulls the stunt that NH just did.
For those of you that don't know, NH turned into a closed primary a week or so ago and then gave October 12 as the deadline to change your registration. Oh, and they didn't bother putting that information on the official website until we called today and screamed at them. It was not up yesterday, it is up today. So that means, the state officially gave its citizens 9 days warning of their shenanigans.
If we lose the folks we already have on board in NY and NH we will lose for sure. We have done so much work to get them. We have dems on board in NH. Lots of them. We cannot afford to lose them.
One email from the campaign can fix it. No amount of work that we do can. We can't reach them all. They can do it with one click.
Isn't anyone else angry that the campaign has done NOTHING about this so far? Do I really deserve to be treated so poorly by a staffer when I call? Do they really have folks who don't understand that we are trying to win votes here?
Please stand up and help me. If enough of us call the campaign and ask if they will just send out a little email with the new deadlines in NY and NH and who can vote in each state, then perhaps the ditzes on the phone will realize this is important.
