The nice thing about this case is that, to my understanding, the case is really about whether the constitution applies to state and local governments, not just the federal government. If my understanding is correct, this could have a profound effect beyond just this case.

Is anyone here more familiar with this case? The announcement that the supreme court would hear the case just broke this morning.
