forget socialism, forget anarchy, forget all the retarded labels getting tossed around. We are all American's. We need to unite against what is killing us the most.
Reach out to these people on that level instead. The best example of this is when corrupt, deregulated Wall Street banking corporations gutted our economy and were rewarded with trillions of dollars in bailouts by privately owned congressmen and the Federal Reserve oligarchy.
Socialism is when the government owns and controls all the means of production.
When you allow a limited represenative government to cover basic societal needs like defense , roads , fire departments, it is a far cry from socialism. The argument that all government is socialism is just a rationalization that leftists use for over-stepping thier bounds and infringing on our individual liberties.
All you have to do to counter thier ridiculous argument is to post the actual definition of socialism, and the actual definition of anarchy. Then tell them to actually read the $#@!ing constitution ...if they don't get it after that , they are beyond help.

-Abraham Lincoln, April 6, 1859
Jefferson Davis murdered 600,000 people
I agree here, and I would point out that most services that are provided effectively are done on the state and local level. Any large federal government program always runs in the red ink, and are ponzi scheme like in their creation.
I can think of very few things the federal government does that is necessary or worthwhile, with the exception of providing for the common defense, although recently I even question if they are protecting us, or at war with us.
"It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world. "
George Washington
"Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations"
James Madison

I don't have time to write more right now, but I did want to say that you probably don't want to refer to our form of government as a democracy. We were founded as a constitutional republic. Democracy is mob rule and our founders were very much opposed to it. The idea of a constitutional republic, or rule by law, is that the rights of the minority, or the one, are protected against the force of the majority.

This is the group I want to appeal the most too with ideas on Liberty and freedom, because I used to think like them. It is so frustrating to see what they are seeing but yet hoping they realize the truth.People can only be free if they are free.. And that is the concept I feel most on that side don’t get.
What a Socialist eye sees is helping people and making sure those that can't fend for themselves get things they might need. This can only be accomplished through re- distribution of wealth and their- in lies the problem. Whose wealth should be taken and to which projects this wealth should be given to, is where a socialist needs to start asking questions and realize all though nice concept in theory, it is not practical to be a just and peaceful society people will always be fighting for their project to get funded instead of going out and working hard to start a private business based on their passion
And the other question is; they say that this is caused by Free Markets and that is an area I have been reading the most and as we do not have Free Markets in this country, how can it be the blame. I see way too much government intervention to say we have free markets.
You know this is off point but I was listening to a radio show and he said if the government really wanted to save money start going to 3 day week on mail, instead of daily. He went on to talk about how in this day and age do we really need mail every day or you can pay extra and there is still UPS and FedEx that you can take your overnight mail too. So Mail every three day and I thought hey it really is a good concept and would cut some cost down, but how do we know get rid of these government jobs when there are so many. Whose project do we cut to pay for the others we want to fund? That is why government is only good to secure and protect private property.
