On September 8, 2009 President Obama will make an unprecedented address directly to all public school students. The speech will bypass all media outlets and be broadcasted directly to the schools via the White House's website.

In an attempt to make a mass statement to our local schools and say we will not tolerate this type of indoctrination by our federal government we are calling for all parents to keep their children out of school on the day of his speech. We are also encouraging everyone to contact their school administration and school board and inform them of the reason their children will not be in school.

We will not sit down silently while this administration corrupts our children with it's socialist/fascist ideology. Nor will we sit quietly as they sell our children on the necessity of mandatory national servitude.

I think I'll be sending my boy to school with a recording device.

The letter says the video will be played at whitehouse.gov, so maybe we can all see it. But if not, then he can catch it on video and I'll post it up here.

This sucks...I remember having to deal with his inauguration. All these teachers, acting as if they actually gave a damn, had the news coverage playing in the background. It was torture. Now these poor children will have to listen to their dictator OOPS!...president babble on about helping their community. This is clearly about the Sept. 11th volunteering crap.
Washington doesn't change Rand Paul. Rand Paul changes Washington.

When an opponent declares, 'I will not come over to your side,' I say calmly, 'Your child belongs to us already...What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing but this new community’. - Adolf Hitler

If your child gets indoctrinated by the events on September 8th, it's more your fault for letting it happen than Obama's.

But I agree with you about keeping children at home on September 8th.

Love the concept, hope the thing goes viral over the next few days!

I can't wait to have children so I can indoctrinate them to be anti-state by pre-school.
In the end, it's never what you worry about that gets you.

I keep saying that public schools are the worst enemy of the liberty movement. By controlling the education and information children receive, you control their beliefs and political ideology, and essentially control an entire generation.

Is it any wonder why young adults are the demographic that supports Obama the most outside of racial lines?

If the people here are ever going to defeat big government or the "state", public education needs to be taken down or at least decentralized.

Obama's administration seems to acknowledge the role the schools play in creating new followers. Expect more from this administration on ways to further indoctrinate the children and my generation.

I don't see anything bad with this. He is our president after all, why wouldn't we listen to what he has to say. Doesn't mean we'll believe him. And it gives us one more opportunity to discuss issues with our kids when they get back from school.
Plenty of politicians give speeches at schools, and I believe it helps stir debate rather than stifle it.
In fact, one discussion we can have with our kids is whether they think this broadcast is constitutional or not, and why.

It's more than just the speech. Check out the "classroom activities". Links here:

The White House has also provided a list of questions to discuss with your children before, during and after the speech. Here is one of the questions for PreK-6.

Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?

What was that Hitler quote again?

When an opponent declares, "I will not come over to your side," I calmly say, "Your child belongs to us already... What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community."

"Because they might be leading you down the road to socialism." I would love to hear a student tell this to his/her teacher.
Insanity should be defined as trusting the government to solve a problem they caused in the first place. Please do not go insane!

Almost 1,000 members in 24 hours!

I would have been happy with 100 members.

I contacted my local school board and the person I spoke stated that she had been receiving calls all morning in protest of this speech. She said that they were having a meeting today to discuss how the district was going to handle it and they would issue a statement in the next day or so.

I told her that if the schools decided to air the speech I would be removing my children from school that day and she said she had been hearing the same thing from parents all morning long.

I have been hearing similar stories from across the country from parents who called their schools and school boards. I really believe that this is about bringing the fight closer to home and holding our local official accountable. I also hope this opens the eyes of parents and makes them question what else is going on in the schools and what else are their children being conditioned to believe.

He may be "your president" but he sure as hell ain't mine.

I don't want my kids to be forced to listen to this Marxist degenerate any more than i would want them having a child molestor as a teacher. This communist creep has put our kids in debt for life.....and now he's going to lecture them on being responsible citizens??????

The ONLY message that the kids will get is a subliminal one.....to worship your leader. This is an outrage!!!!!

This is exactly my point. It's a great opportunity to discuss these issues with our kids. And if needed provide them with a counter argument to the President's opinions afterward.
