I met Kokesh and Michael Maresco last night

I attended the MO C4L state meeting yesterday in Jefferson City, MO. After our meeting at the capitol we had a BBQ at Binder park. Adam and "the Liberty Rider" both attended. Adam was on his way to DC, and Michael is on his way to Alcatraz They both gave very good speeches at the BBQ and mingled with the crowd. I slipped Michael some $ for his trip (told him it was for his "petty cash" fund).

I didn't know who Michael was at first. I mentioned something about rpf to Kokesh, and michael asked my sn and told me his, I was like "oh shit, your the dude riding across country." He said he doesn't particularly like bicycles But he pedals so we don't have too. I told him I was greatly appreciative of that, because I am far to lazy to go bycycling across the country

Kokesh is planning an event in NM on the 4th to coincide with his money bomb and to celebrate the revolution. He wouldn't out and say he was running as a republican, but he said "I will give you a hint; I am a registered republican." He said he was very pleased to have his own sub-forum on here.

They were both really good dudes. I wish them both the best of luck on their journies

This week, the campaign trail led us to the Missouri State Campaign For Liberty Meeting in Jefferson City. Remember, these are the people for whom the MIAC (Missouri Information Analysis Center) report was written, labeling them and anyone who supported Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, or Bob Barr and believed in the right to gun ownership, “domestic terrorists.” Well, by my account, they are living up to their reputation and still organizing to make trouble for the establishment.

In that effort, they put together a day-long meeting that began at the state capitol and culminated with a BBQ at Binder State Park. We got there just in time to eat and talk about the status of the exploratory committee. It was very encouraging to see so many activists coming together for Campaign For Liberty business, but especially exciting to see how many are considering running for office. I talked to one young man who is already looking at what he might be facing in a 2014 run for Congress.

The Liberty Rider, Michael Maresco, was also there and we were lucky to catch him as he makes his way by bicycle from the Statue of Liberty to Alcatraz on his Ride for Honesty. Because of the symbolic nature of his start and end points, the unofficial name for the ride is “Freedom to Fascism.” He is traveling the country to spread the message and has been surprised at how receptive people have become (even to the word “fascism”) since his work during the Ron Paul presidential campaign.

I had the privilege of working with Michael on the BJ Lawson campaign last year. He is a fireplug for liberty and a gifted communicator who can engage with anyone. I can say from first hand experience that keeping him on the road and well-stocked with literature is a solid investment for our movement. You can make a donation to support his efforts at his website. He's only eighteen hundred dollars from covering his budget for the trip and when he does he'll take the chip-in widget down and replace it with, “buy me a beer.” On that note, if you were wondering, “How does the Liberty Rider find the fortitude to carry on through the sunburn, and the windburn, and the bugs in his teeth to carry the torch of liberty for us?” here is your answer:

The guy giving the tour said they built the capitol in 1913 there were two before the current one, both burned down. They raised 4 million through bonds, and the completed the capitol for a little over 3 million. Since the money was only earmarked for the caitol, the rest of the money was spent on decoration, hence all the artwork. Wonder what abuilding like that would cost today?
