    Default Pawlenty Out

So, since Pawlenty has announced he's not running for a third term as Governor, are there any liberty Republicans who will step forward to run in the primary?

Are there even any liberty types that have enough name recognition to be a serious candidate?

We' love to see Tom Emmer run. He'd be the closest to us with a good chance of winning. But he's going to have to get on top of it pretty quickly.

Laura wouldn't be bad, but I still remember going to her website for the first time. The whole front page was awash in pictures and praise of E85. She WAS one of the good legislators who came out for the event with Ron Paul on Sept 3, so I'd have to say I'm generally positive toward her.

Ah, well, all politics is local. Good luck with the search--hope you get a good one in the race. Can't have Randy Brogdon, though--he's ours!

Seems to me we had a pretty good candidate challenge Pawlenty in the '06 primary. Is she up for a shot at the open position? Tom Emmer would be good also.

I don't understand the fascination with Tom Emmer. He has the same voting record as Marty Seifert the minority leader. The one exception, Emmer supports Real ID. That is a deal breaker for me.

Seifert called me tonight and made several good points. 1) Brod voted for the socialist stadium -- aack! 2) Seifert voted against mandatory seatbelts, 3) Seifert sponsored the Sovereignty bill, 4) had some explanation about Med Marijuana -- you be the judge -- 5) supported the Real ID repeal -- I don't know where he voted on it last year.

I told him I'd keep an open mind. Happy to hear all your thoughts too.

Emmer is running for House Minority Leader, not Guv. Don't know what Michele Bachmann is doing yet, but I love her for going to bat against the Fed. Kohls is on my naughty list for getting in bed with TPTB with Sutton.

Who else do you like, whether they're running or now?
