I'm not sure about the wildfire (at least I hope), but you're right about your second statement. It was so easy for me to pass out fliers that we ran out too fast. All I had to chant was, "Ron Paul is the only true Pro-peace candidate. The democrats do not want to end the war. Obama is fooling you." And so on and people would flock TO ME. People would come and grab a flier instead of me having to put it in their hand as you have to do on a street corner or at a supermarket or wherever you are sign-waving.

This post is not specifically addressed to Liberty Eagle but to all the nay-sayers about Ron Paul's presence in DC on Saturday.
All events are opportunities and we should talk to anyone who will listen. I'm getting tired of all the damned "this is going to hurt Ron Paul" or "he shouldn't have done that" nonsense. If we narrow our audience at all, we lose, period. Thank you for doing this, unfortunately I was unable to make it down there, although I am in full support of what the protest was aiming for.

Well, I don't see how we were actually associating with them besides agreeing on one issue. If communists want peace then I agree with them, regardless of their past acts or current ideas. That's like when people argue the constitution with me by saying it didn't even acknowledge slaves or women as humans. That MAY be true but it doesn't take away from the brilliance of the documents or the minds that crafted it. So whether or not communists were responsible for your mother's horror is irrelevant because you could just as easily say that democracy is responsible for the current horrors. It's not the ideas, it's the people.

My Grandmother fled the soviet tanks in what now is the Czech Republic. She hated them with a passion but was a die hard Democrat.
No one is defending communism, but we are defending the rights of Americans who believe in communism to believe in it and talk about it. Your mother fled SOVIET tanks, not Communist tanks. She fled SOVIET tanks, not American Communist tanks. Don't blame the ideology for the heinous acts. That's like blaming Islam for 911. It's ridiculous and is the worst form of lumping a group of people together based on what they believe, not on what they actually do. As I mentioned in the other thread, I had two Communist family members. One was a civil rights lawyer who defended the rights of lots of people who were wrongly accused of crimes they didn't commit. He was out there defending blacks in the 1930s before the civil rights movement even existed, he was defending foreigners who were being accused of crimes on the grounds the lawsuits were unconstitutional. He wasn't driving that tank your mother faced.
    We will win this...

Well said. Communism isn't the evil, even though we are taught that due to the bad name it may have been given by the different communist/socialist/fascist regimes in the past. It's the PTB that use those systems of government to control people that are evil.
