Why not use the Federal Reserve's own notes against them?

Here's an idea...think of how many different hands the average reserve note goes through in it's lifetime. Why not draw or write on these notes some anti fed slogans? Especially with the 20 dollar bills. You could have Andrew Jackson talking about how much he $#@!ing hates central banks. You could turn it into a mini comic book. If you are worried about people saying something or accusing you of defacing currency, just dispose of them in soda machines, change machines, the collection plate at church, etc. I bet there are lots of creative ways this could be done.

    Rant

Have you noticed how few Ron Paul graffitied bills you see in circulation? The banks remove them from circulation. They are supposed to take out all bills defaced like that. And since it's illegal to deface a bill so that it isn't used in circulation, yeah, it's illegal.

How about taking one of, if not the, most serious public policy issues we face and reduce the conversation to the most juvenile, counterproductive stamps?

Yes let's not brag about it publicly. That said, doing things that automatically get the notes pulled from circulation is a way to create deflation. And the Fed Board of Governors, who seldom use cash, will be among the last to know, too. Used to be done in the Seventies--as I'm not familiar with the statute of limitations, I won't say by whom. Ripping them nearly in half was a favorite method.

Humor could be good. WARNING: WILL SHRINK IN INFLATIONARY TIMES LIKE A WOOL SHIRT IN A HOT DRYER! FOR PROPER STORAGE OF THIS NOTE USE IT TO PURCHASE SILVER OR GOLD!

Trust me, they'll print more so it isn't really deflationary.

    That warning is funny though.

Too long though. Hate to shorten the second sentence, but the first part would have more punch as:

    WARNING: INFLATION WILL CAUSE SHRINKAGE!

    No need for maybes.

    Ok, I drew one today.

Andrew Jackson says: "I spent my presidency fighting banks like the Federal Reserve. Whose $#@!ing idea was it to put me on this worthless paper money?"

The point of federal law is to discourage defacement which renders a bill unfit for circulation. There are multitudes of bills out there with some sort of writing or stamping. Stamping alone does not render a bill unfit for circulation.

Of course, if the Federal Reserve went by their own guidelines, about 90% of the money I see would be unfit for circulation. Banks do not "automatically" pull bills for destruction because they are charged a fee for cash submitted for destruction.

I actually have a "Where's George" ten dollar bill in my wallet right now. I forget where I got it from though.
In the end, it's never what you worry about that gets you.

Bad idea! - that can come right back to you!

Though they would have a tough time proving it... and it would be fun to watch it circulate.
