Thread: Is VDARE a racist site?????

    Is VDARE a racist site?????

I tend to like Paleo\Old Right websites so long as there isn't too much moralism or eek racism involved. I don't like labeling things as "racism" on first hesitation, but what is with the giant white doe at VDARE? I like the website...kind of, but that white doe they have makes me nervous. The guy who runs it, Francis, blogs at LRC I think.

David Frum wrote this article entitled "Unpatriotic Conservatives" where he bashes people on the right who oppose the occupation of Iraq. Link to David Frum article.

The VDARE's Francis guy recently wrote this article in response to David Frum. Link here to Francis article.

So I was reading about this back and forth between Frum and Francis so that's how I noticed the VDARE site, but they have a giant white doe, which I don't know what to make of.

So if this a valid spectrum, I tend to like the so called Paleo's more than the run-of the mill conservatives so long as there isn't some race thing going on.

Neo-con --> Pro-war fiscal conservative --> Much less pro-war fiscal conservative --> Old Right conservative (loosing the moralism at this point) --> Minarchist --> anarcho-capitalism/voluntaryism

I know very little about the website.

Why VDARE.COM / The White Doe?

This explains why they use the white doe.

    Ron Paul Forum's Mission Statement:

Inspired by US Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, this site is dedicated to facilitating grassroots initiatives that aim to restore a sovereign limited constitutional Republic based on the rule of law, states' rights and individual rights. We seek to enshrine the original intent of our Founders to foster respect for private property, seek justice, provide opportunity, and to secure individual liberty for ourselves and our posterity.

I have not read anything there in a while, but I do recall thinking at one point that the site was pushing the envelope on race.

Remember, racism is one of those "nonsense" things that we have to put up with IF we truly support freedom (Dr. Paul said something like "freedom means you have to put up with some nonsense.")

I know that is not the "popular" thing to say, but a WHOLE lot of people forget that the first amendment is there to protect "unpopular" speech. If you're just parroting what is "popular," the first amendment will never be needed because NO ONE WILL OBJECT TO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!

Why can't everybody else leave everybody else alone?
