Thousands of men and women have come and gone here in our country's history, and except for the few, most go unnoticed and remain nameless in the pages of history, as I am sure I will be. -Ron Paul (1984)

Point is, Satan, when looked at in retrospect doesn't seem like such a bad person. I mean hell, 10 vs 2,000,000+

Not to mention 33% of Heaven said this place sucks balls lets go start our own club and God got all pissed and was like, "HEY YOUZ CAN"T START NO CLUB! YOU HAVE TO BE IN MINE OR HAVE NONE AT ALL!" and then God banished them to live a life in eternal damnation in which Satan started tempting people and created sin.

Infinite bliss with a man who takes pride in killing 2,000,000+ people and having the gall to tell others to be like him? I think I'd rather not chance it.

lol. Yeah, God sure does lose his temper a lot in the bible. He gets jealous a lot, too. I think he needs counseling.

I don't think eternal life in a gated community with an omnipotent being with a short fuse seems very appealing to me.

Life is a loan from God. It's His property, He is just investing it in us for a short period of time and he is free to withdraw it whenever He wants. If I withdraw money from my own savings account, it's not stealing; if someone else withdraws money from my account without my permission it is stealing. Likewise, if God takes life He is only claiming what is rightfully His; if someone else takes life it's murder.

    Interesting article.<IMHO>

It kind of reminds me of comparing the STATE vs. anarchy, 20th century killed, body counts stats. Of course the gap between those two is MUCH wider.

Just to add to that, we must remember that it is sin which causes us to die because we are children of the first Adam who sinned in the Garden of Eden. Yet, under the second Adam, Jesus Christ, we can overcome the first death by having eternal life after we die. How can we know this for sure in this life? God manifests it to us by our dying to our sinful flesh as we walk in the righteousness which God first called us to do under the first Adam. In the second Adam, we can do that.
"Then David said to the Philistine, 'You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of Yahweh of hosts, the God of the battle lines of Israel, Whom you have reproached.'" - 1 Samuel 17:45

"May future generations look back on our work and say that these were men and women who, in moment of great crisis, stood up to their politicians, the opinion-makers, and the Establishment, and saved their country." - Dr. Ron Paul

I'm not going to worship someone who treats my life like a savings account.

The devil does not condemn anyone, only God does that. We would exist in the same place as Satan, but it will be God who puts us there. If the doom and gloom is all true, I am greatly looking forward to meeting Satan.

I mean what if we die and it turns out that God is actually the cruel and unusual dictator and Satan is the presumed antagonist whose trying to free us from authoritarian control?

Its a bizarre analysis but I mean come on who knows?

    Satan is a freedom fighter?!
"I know the urge to arm yourself, because that’s what I did. I was trained in firearms. When I walked to the hospital when my husband was sick, I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if somebody was going to try to take me out I was going to take them with me."

That is impossible. You mind would not let that happen. If you go to heaven, then it has to be eternal bliss and hell condemnation.

I've always had a problem with the traditional Heaven, from what I hear and read about it wouldn't be a place I'd enjoy anyways. So why should I look forward to it, either way I'm screwed.

Whether you worship Him or not, he's still going to reclaim what's His eventually. The best thing to do is to make sure He gets a decent return on His investment, and doesn't have cause to regret investing in you.

Regret... yeah. Thats a hard one to reconcile with omnipotent superbeings.
    In New Zealand:
    The Coastguard is a Charity
Air Traffic Control is a private company run on user fees
The DMV is a private non-profit
Rescue helicopters and ambulances are operated by charities and are plastered with corporate logos
The agriculture industry has zero subsidies
5% of the national vote, gets you 5 seats in Parliament
A tax return has 4 fields
    Business licenses aren't a thing
    Prostitution is legal
We have a constitutional right to refuse any type of medical care

So what you're saying Turtle is that I should worship him because I'm his regardless how I feel about it and he'll reclaim me some day to be in his presence for all eternity?

    So he's a slavemaster now?

Here's a thought: There are some that believe heaven and hell aren't definitive, that they are conditional according to your likes and dislikes. A place of eternal happiness can manifest itself as a place where you're innermost loves and passions create a heaven, and your inner guilt and despair creates a hell, unlike the traditional view of fire and brimstone and flowers and gold. For example would a sick twisted pyro with an S&M habit go to hell and enjoy it? Or would he go to his own personal hell of fluffy things and soft comfortable pillows with no resources to catch them all on fire?

So satan is the antithesis of God yet he has no problem doing his dirty work?

Haha. Most of these responses certainly aren't coming from Christians because they are way too logical. As I grew up the belief of a god who created us but we haven't seen him, is prayed to to save our lives but we don't blame him for our deaths became absurd. A really old book that has some good teaching if you can decipher it but is contradictory is hard for me to follow. I can believe an omnipresent government just not god.

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of
'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day
America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. ~ Norman Thomas
