This has been going on a lot longer than 1992. Check this out. I haven't read everything on this site but it seems to have a lot of the pieces all in one place: http://www.sweetliberty.org/beware_metro.html

VERY familiar with it. It is the primary reason why the USA needs to be removed from the UN right now.
People should not be afraid of their governments -
governments should be afraid of their people.
In times of change, the Patriot is a scarce man; brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot.

And everyone thinks this began with Al Gore.
"Logic is an enemy and truth is a menace." ~ Rod Serling
"Cops today are nothing but an armed tax collector" ~ Frank Serpico
"To be normal, to drink Coca-Cola and eat Kentucky Fried Chicken is to be in a conspiracy against yourself."
"People that don't want to make waves sit in stagnant waters. "
"Every time someone makes fun of the idea of “conspiracy theories” they are exhibiting a conditioned response – like salivating when they hear a bell or believing a TV news program." ~ Craig McKee
Also, "sustainable development" has been noted in the UK:

FUCK the U.N.
I saw this video a week or two ago and it got me thinking........ are people EVER going to stop having kids? How many people can this Earth comfortably house and feed?? When are people going to realize that most of the wealth opportunities in this country have been taken over by corporations and the government (hard to draw the line anymore)?
Not that I endorse the UN or any form of global governance/depopulation/forced birth control
The things that matter in this country have been reduced in choice..... there are two political parties, there are a handful of insurance companies, six or seven information sources, BUT IF YOU WANT A BAGEL there are 23 flavors!
~George Carlin

WHOA, HOLD ON GUYS!! This video is a propaganda piece, they aren't actually talking about any of the ideas in sustainable development. Sustainable development is simply a concept of humans living in balance with nature and each other. At the core, it simply means "living within our means".
Wikipedia has a good summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_development
I'm not saying the UN should dictate our environmental and economic standards. I'm saying sustainable development is a VERY important concept that everyone should understand.
if modern agriculture continues to follow the path it's on now, it's finished. The food-growing situation may seem to be in good shape today, but that's just an illusion based on the current availability of petroleum fuels. All the wheat, corn, and other crops that are produced on big American farms may be alive and growing, but they're not products of real nature or real agriculture. They're manufactured rather than grown. The earth isn't producing those things.. petroleum is! -Masanobu Fukuoka
