I was reading Glen Greenwald today and noticed something that would be perfect for this forum. We all know that websites like to blame us for "spamming" polls and directing blogswarms to critical posts about RP. One solution is to use a proxy, but that's something not everyone will bother to do, or you can break a link, forcing people to copy and paste the link to their browser, thius eliminating the referrer data from the forum. However, there's a better way.
If you are familiar with the blog LittleGreenFootballs, you know that whenever a post critical of either a post or comment thread there is linked, Charles Johnson will rediect traffic to places like the Israeli Defense Forces website, thus rendering the link useless. I just noticed that Glen solved this problem by using the following link.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=URL
Just replace URL with your actual url. Example:
http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=htt...ves/005053.php
How cool is that? It looks like you came from Google.
Question for Josh. Is it possible to add a button in the post window that gives people the option to redirect the link through google?
Example from Glen:
The largest right-wing bloggers, such as Michelle Malkin and Charles Johnson, devote themselves on a virtually daily basis to condemning Muslims and mocking Islam. During the "Mohammed cartoon" controversy, they repeatedly published the blasphemous cartoons. Malkin has a blogger on her Hot Air blog who derisively blogs under the name "Allah". Were fatwas issued against them? Are they living in seclusion, under 24-hour guard from the Grave Islamic Menace that lives in Kirchick's head?
