Letter to the Editor - Obama, Messiah?

Perhaps it is the mess that George W. Bush has left after his two terms in office that makes the inauguration of Barack Obama seem like religious experience. Perhaps the idea that a non-white male has been elected President will stir the heart of every American that the possibility of the American dream is still alive. (And if so, we should note that Obama’s success had more to do with the ideas of Booker T. Washington than the socialist W E B Dubois). Regardless, it is abundantly clear that “Change” will be window dressing only.

Simply put, Obama is the same old tired east coast establishment bum that has been ruining this nation for decades. Bill Clinton intellectual mentor and Georgetown Professor Carroll Quigley stated it clearly in his book Tragedy and Hope - “The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can “throw the rascals out” at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy. … Either party in office becomes in time corrupt, tired, unenterprising, and vigorless. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.”

So lets examine the evidence: Bailouts – Obama check, McCain Check. Nation building and sword shaking - Obama check, McCain check. Patriot Act – Obama check, McCain Check. More big government solutions to virtually every ailment in the nation – McBama, check.

Are there other ideas, ideas that have a proven track record of success? Ideas that Republicans and Democrats can agree with? Yes! When we actually had a free market economy (by definition we do not currently have a free market) the United States was the most prosperous, most generous, most advanced civilization in all of recorded history. The concepts that lead to such unprecedented prosperity were advocated here in Ohio by legendary politicians such as Congressman John Ashbrook and Senator Robert A. “Mr. GOP” Taft. Most recently, Dr. Ron Paul expressed these exact same views in the 2008 presidential primary. Democrats have expressed the same views as well, most notably Dr. Larry McDonald, a five term Democrat Congressman from Georgia. The essence of these views originate from Thomas Jefferson, father of the Democratic Party.

Peace, prosperity and freedom can unite us all across any party lines. Today that torch is carried high right here in Central Ohio. Please consider joining the remnant that seeks to bring about less government, more responsibility, and — with God’s help — a better world by providing leadership, education, and organized volunteer action in accordance with moral and Constitutional principles. Consider being a precinct leader in the Campaign for Liberty (www.campaignforliberty.com). Start by getting educated. On January 21 at Café’ Daniela in Worthington, NBC-4’s Jim Ganahl will speak at 6:30p on the topic of man made global warming being a FRAUD. On January 28, 7:00pm at the Old Bag of Nails in downtown Delaware, the Central Ohio JBS (www.jbs.org) will present the Ludwig Von Mises video “Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve.” The video will explain the causes of the Great Depression and how the New Deal made the depression worse, not better. These events are free and open to the public. Further, JBS President Jack McManus will be in Columbus on March 14 to name the names of the banksters and their puppets in Congress that are selling our great, great grandchildren into financial ruin. Check out www.ohiofreedom.com for more information. Lets stop being “good republicans” or “good democrats” and start being good Americans first.
