Well that was something of an impulse purchase...

I went Christmas shopping today and came home with this-

Its a Rossi 4" .357. It's my first handgun and since it's 'dark' I think I'm going to name it Barak...I'm sure he'd love to have a gun named after him. I know its a bad picture, can't wait to see how she shoots...

Convergence will be accompanied by blood baths and political re-education camps in Western Europe and the United States. It is better to have a handgun, than not to have one
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

I think we recently established that carrying one can help decrease your chances of finding yourself on the receiving end of a butt-rape.

Might not be too classy, which is perfect if you're naming a gun after an Illinois politician...

DUDE!!! You just went shopping and came home with that beauty the very same day? How'd you do that? Tell us more!

You go to the gun store and buy one, that's how. Nothing particuarly odd about it.

Wow...maybe you live in a lot more gun-friendly state than I do, but I thought there was some kind of two-week waiting period.

Dang, that's pretty good! To tell the truth, I'm not even sure what the laws are here in NC, but they're so stringent throughout most of the country that it has effectively dissuaded me from even looking into a firearms license. I'd like to keep a low profile, especially with what happened during Katrina (licensed handgun owners got a "visit" from FEMA and had their sole protection from looters confiscated). However, I'd still like to observe the laws and be as much on the "up and up" as possible.

I have a couple of antique, inherited guns, but I'm not sure what the legal status is on them, so I haven't really carried them around or done any practice.

Here in the Gun Friendly MO, it takes less than five minutes, from "I'll take it" to out the door. Well if you have the filing out the 4473 down to a science...

I don't know much about NC either, but I'm pretty sure it is a relatively decent state. I'd wager you could probably just go buy one. Usually that waiting period crap comes into effect if you are in California or one of the crappy northeastern states.

3 day waiting period in Florida for handguns...Always frustrating. I found myself sleepless waitin for my XD I got a couple weeks ago.
"I know the urge to arm yourself, because that’s what I did. I was trained in firearms. When I walked to the hospital when my husband was sick, I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if somebody was going to try to take me out I was going to take them with me."

I have never had a waiting period...unless you consider filling out the little form and the phone call...lol...

best way here is private sell. If you are 18, you can buy or sell any gun here legally..

    oh, and no registering, either.

We went out one day, and DH got this for Christmas...sure it was November, but that doesn't matter, right?

Sabre Defence XR15...oh, yeah, that took about 25 minutes to walk in the store, fill out paper, make call, pay, and go home.

Yea I bet you can do that in your state, though I don’t know for sure. I remember when I bought my first rifle a few years ago I thought there was a waiting period or something so when they just handed me the rifle I was like, oh snap. I love Texas, now if I could only open carry…

you guys can't open carry? Anyone who can legally possess a gun can open carry in my state. I thought Texas had open carry?

If you were asking me, the Sabre was new in box, $1150 out the door before they went up.
