"Pathological" media counts down until Obama

The Chicago Tribune's daily ticker on "days until the Obama inaugural" on the front page of the paper is a real annoyance. I'm sorry; I don't recall a daily ticker when George W. Bush won in 2000. Don't recall a daily ticker when G. H.W. Bush won in 1988; nor when Ronald W. Reagan won in 1980. This mania the media has is quite fascinating, if not pathological.

Perhaps the Tribune will post a counter-ticker online at after Obama's inaugural. "Only 1,459 days to go until Obama is gone..."
