2008 Elections: How bad is it?

Does anyone have a idea how much support the 2nd lost yesterday?

    I'm guessing a lot.

Expect a more expansive and permanent "assault weapons" ban before the end of 2009.

What does it take to get such a ban before the court?

You get your weapons taken by the government and then sue to get them back.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Didn't the supreme court basically say banning a whole class of guns was unconstitutional? So if congress makes a class of gun just to ban it, with large amounts of data that there is no public benefit. Didn't they have a better case banning handguns?

What about this. We organize a peaceful resistance.

1> Funding: donations to the cause.

2> Inform the public of the senseless nature of the AWB.

3> Set up our legal case to challenge the constitutionality of a AWB.

4> Publicly manufacture an "assault weapon" the day the law takes effect.

    5> Get arrested

    6> Sue

    7> Prison and/or victory

Any ideas or suggestion? That nature of the BAFTE means lawyers would be necessary just to set up the organization or they would seize the funds.

I expect to be criminalized by the mere stroke of a pen.

    Get ready for it.

Of course they did that in 1993, and in 1994 the democrats lost the house.

Will they be that stupid again?

Well, were the voting machines as rigged then as they are now?

But then, peaceful protest was still possible. Not now.

This is why the country must be awash with rifles and reloading presses. So when they do start getting ideas, they have to consider whether or not their voters are prepared for the civil war that will come.

Most of their voters live in cities and barren suburbs. Most of the gun owners produce the food.

The gun owners are ready for the conflict. Those who vote in the tyrants are not.

And let us not forget that many lessons were learned in the past.
If this should be, our final stand,
we will stand together with pride
We will honour the past, and fight to the last,
it will be a good way to die
It matters not, if the cause is lost,
and we can not stop the tide
We will fight to the end, and then fight again,
it will be a good way to die

This is the harsh reality. Not one shot needs to be fired, not one single act of violence, not even a harsh word needs be spoken.

The weapon to win is the same tool used in the spring, the plow can starve as easily as it feeds.

Wayne Fincher has already tried that. He is rotting in prison. Forget about working within the system. Civil disobedience will only work with many people participating, otherwise .gov sees it as a fun game of whack-a-mole.

Wait a minute, the BATFE will not issue a permit, so the tax status of the NFA law can't be applied. Drug dealers were ruled exempt form taxes until a non-incriminating way to pay them was allowed.

I prefer a slightly different scenario.

Let us suppose there is some type of ban passed.

Let us further suppose that a group of liberty loving individuals form a neighborhood with a militia watching routes of ingress into that neighborhood.

Over time, the neighborhood attracts more liberty loving individuals and the militia grows stronger.

At some point the government either has to ignore it, and the community continues to grow... or .... here come the BATF, FBI, all the King's men, and all the King's horses - where either a siege develops or we find out the ability of the militia to stage a firefight.

Then the situation escalates and it goes through the courts or a part of the country gets to govern itself under a federal system or seceeds.
