This is a sad day for liberty...

The dems now have the House, Senate, Presidency, and soon to be the courts.

I am only 20 and will run again. I had many a congrats at how well I did for my first campaign, and to run against a 12 year incumbent. I will run again.

I'm taking many great things away from this.

    1. I made mistakes that i've learned from, and I gotten much needed experience in
    2. I've gotten my name out there and have already had many people ask me to run again
    3. I will be running for a open seat in 2 years and will have a much better chance.
    4. I've made many political friends, INCLUDING the man I ran against! who will be working on my side for my next campaign.

This should only make us want to work harder. Not only harder, but smarter. Walk softly my friends, and plans your next moves carefully. I'm already working on my votes for 2010.

Not to take a line from Obama but... Yes we can.
    Good luck, and God bless.

No thankyou. I wouldn't move. I love where I live and I've already worked so hard for making a name for myself here. Plus I don't believe in the free state project.

You need to take a lesson from one of the MOST successful of young politicians ever... by the name of William Pitt (the younger).

THE most important thing is to select the CORRECT district (and job) to run for, and if you can "sneak in" (off year election, spring election, or special election* after death or resignation, etc) that's even better.

Trying to swim upstream is just not a practical way to get anywhere (about the only thing it accomplishes is to give you exercise & build muscles).

*Also of note is that Ron Paul was first elected in this way.

My duty is to take this country back from the depths of tyranny. I will need muscles.
Swimming downstream won't help you when the current changes, and you don't have the strength to fight it.

Good effort Landon, you gained alot of ground for your first campaign.

The same goes for BJ Lawson. You both have built up a solid base of support to work with, and next election season, after the democrats have dug the hole even deeper, you will both be ready to jump up in the numbers, and possibly win.

Great effort man, and good luck next time

Great job Landon. Even though you didn't win, I and many others appreciate your effort. The fact that you kept trying even when you were broke really accentuates your dedication.

That sucks Landon, you have a good head on your shoulders and I am sure you would have done a super job.

I can't help but think that Bush and Co. really destroyed what was left of liberty & freedom within the American consciousness. The voters have rallied to a mini-socialist and forget everything that what it means to be an american.

I wish he, Bush, reflects on this day and wises up to what he has done to the republican party and to the future of this country.

Take this bit of advice my father told me.. when I was going thru some trying times.

remove the scarlet letter from your name?? R might help the next time ,people were over the gop and i am saddened for you ,but glad the gop got their asses handed to them on a silver platter. the gop got what they deserved and the only ones to blame for this are THE GOP LEADERSHIP!!!!

I will be working with my democratic friends and eventually might run as a town council in next election as a RON PAUL DEMOCRAT!!!
2016 gop est business as usual, rules do not apply.

  17. #15
That does indeed suck! But I am thrilled that you will run again!

    Start bankrolling for it now.

I did not run for office as I am not sufficiently an attention whore to be able to stomach it.

To all those who did run in the cause of liberty, I tip my hat with the deepest of respect and admiration.

You only fail if you quit.

You didnt quit. You stayed the course so you did not fail. And for that I have the utmost respect.

It doesnt mean that you lost either. What you lost was a TITLE. And what is a title? You are a Noble, and you are a Duke, and you are a Serf? These LABELS, just as BLACK or WHITE, CHRISTIAN or JEW should have no meaning any more. You are a HUMAN and that is all that you will ever need to be. Nothing more and nothing less than the rest of us.

So, you lost a title. This doesnt stop you from attending city council meetings or anything else where you can do your homework and lead the rest of the pubic that attend any of these meetings. It only goes up from there. Hell you can even pretend to sell out (have to keep that to yourself if you do, but please make sure its only pretend). $#@!, we have a sort of black president now, really if you play your cards right, there is nothing stopping you from trying to be the next President of the United States, well except when you turn 35, have kids, hopefuly a supportive wife, and we havent blown ourselves to kingdom come by then!

    Landon,

Wonderful attitude! Get busy for 2010. Get a great website going, get very active in your political party, and get your name out there as much as possible. You are very young, and I applaud that you care enough to keep going! You will be a force if you remain persistent.

  22. #19
You are very lucky to have been "awoken" at such a young age. keep plugging kid. my hats off to ya!

I hope the loss does not defeat you guys. I hope the loss gives you the tools to work with starting today to build on the next election. See what went wrong where we need to recalibrate and get the ball rollling on What we as Republican's need to do to win the nect time around- get back to our roots of the Party platform and drum that philosophy home with our own party who has been so brainwashed to think that we could win with left leaning beliefs. The time is now to bring the right back into the GOP WE ALL CAN DO THIS BY SUPPORTING OUR pARTY AND DRIVING THE SIMPLE MESSAGE HOME. We lost because we were not on the same page with our Party's original platform. It only took Reagan 4 years to do this and we could easily do this now, because American's want instant gratification and in 4 years when the deficit is still ballooning, the dollar is still weak or weaker we can retake alot of races.

Don't run a race you can't win first and foremost. Both you and BJ never had a chance.

These districts ARE GERRYMANDERED FOR A REASON!

Why Matt? Is winning always everything? And aren't our ideas strong enough?

Sorry you didn't win it, but I am glad you tried. Time to regroup and plan the next barrage.

  33. #29
Wow, you did EXCEPTIONALLY well! I know many people that ran for the experience. Not many win their first time around. Alan Stevo in Chicago knew he could not win, but ran anyway because he needs to learn what it takes to win, and sometimes you can only do that by running to lose. I and others here will be behind you for 2010.
