Students threatened by college over gun safety tips flyer

“After distributing a jocular flyer listing ‘Top Ten Gun Safety Tips’ at the school’s ‘club rush,’ a student group was threatened with probation and derecognition at Lone Star College-Tomball, a public college near Houston. After college officials banned the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) from distributing the flyer, the school’s general counsel invoked the specter of the Virginia Tech shootings, suggesting that even a ‘mention of firearms and weapons’ is inherently a ‘material interference’ with the school’s operations. The group has turned to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) for help.” (10/20/08)

Well then I guess history and english poetry instructors are banned from lessons on "the shot heard around the world"

I ought to become more involved with FIRE. They are one of the most important groups pushing for individual freedoms in the most important area of life at this time.

That happened long ago. What really happened in 1775 was the start of a community action group that registered voters to greatly enhance the self esteem of local community organizers. They were successful in blocking any sort of progress in women's rights and ethnic liberation by preventing the British from giving enlightened government to the colonies, therefore cementing the control of the country by dead white males.

Google the "White Rose Movement" and the threats from the college look like childs play after reading that.
