Whoever we run in 2012 does need to start running now.

Predictions are mostly meaningless. If you're right you can say "i told you so. see, I'm a genius." But if you're wrong, no one will remember anyway.

It is like someone going to the plate in baseball and pointing into the stands, calling a home run. It is arrogant and means nothing if you don't hit a home run. But if you DO hit a home run, everyone goes nuts and thinks you're great.

This is why it makes me sick when professional athletes in baseball, football, basketball, boxing, etc. "guarantee" victory. It is just stupid.

Someone asked him this question. He said he doesn't have any intentions of doing it and hopes another likeminded candidate will be running

He already said he won't run again. Can't say I blame him at his age! He needs to enjoy himself, I'm just glad he's staying in congress.

Ron Paul needs to finish his 2008 campaign.

Unfortunately Ron Paul will be too old to want to do that (and probably too old for the general population to vote for him.) People are shying away from McCain for that reason (I know, I know, there are a million better reasons to shy away from McCain, but age is more of a concern to the general population.)

Not to mention the man deserves to retire and live the rest of his life in peace. I bet a good chunk of the reason why he did this was so that he could get more Ron Pauls into Congress so he would feel OK about retiring.

Oh, leave the poor man alone.

Unfortunately, Ron is getting old. He should enjoy himself, there are other Libertarians we could run in.

Hopefully the LP will be stronger, because I think we have a better chance of doing that than taking back the GOP.

You're also assuming that the presidency will be an elected office in 2012. The way things are going I have my doubts.

No, I agree with Lew Rockwell here: canceling elections is the one thing they would never do. They need the veneer of choice in order to preserve the legitimacy of the regime in people's minds. The choice is meaningless anyway, so it doesn't matter if they continue to permit elections.

It did start back in the 80's. It has taken the advances in the internet to bring everyone together. It will continue to grow and we will win.

Thomas Woods said Gary Johnson will run - as a Republican - if Obama wins this time.

I guess we should vote for Obama?
