Do you expect anyone *currently* in the military to openly talk poorly about the war?

I wouldn't, and I don't support the war (currently in USMC)

You're not allowed. I left the Navy 1 year ago, I was stationed in Bahrain. You are not allowed to 'question' the actions of the military to the press while you are enlisted.

Freedom's Watch is an advocacy group in part run and supported by former officials of the Bush administration. [1] The organization states that its goal is "educating individuals about and advancing public policies that protect Americas interests at home and abroad, foster economic prosperity, and strengthen families." [2] The Freedom's Watch website states, "Those who want to quit while victory is possible have dominated the public debate about terror and Iraq since the 2004 election. Freedom's Watch is going to change that."

I just want to thank you for your service to our nation. I have a father-in-law (Army Major, vet of the first Iraq War) in Baghdad right now, hopefully returning in December; I'm visiting his wife--my mother-in-law (whom I adore dearly)--in Atlanta tomorrow.

He's back in action, with more money to support MAGA revolution underway these days:

Respected Neocon/former Democrat turned MAGA top funder wants GOP to shape up

About time unhelpful GOP factions are held accountable, none of them are delivering in any meaningful way other than GOP-AMAGA/Jarvanka wing (sometimes called GOP-Adelson wing) that has been delivering bigly on wide range of issues from Iran/Syria sanctions/civil war to Israel embassy move, from guns safety to stronger policing, from border wall to DACA caravan, from national debt/spending cuts to China trade war.

Megadonor Sheldon Adelson wants GOP fundraising groups to shape up or risk losing support in 2020

    • Sheldon Adelson, the biggest Republican donor, wants key GOP fundraising groups to shape up after this year's midterm wipeout in the House or risk losing his support for the 2020 election cycle, CNBC has learned.
    • Adelson's closest advisors are preparing to warn the heads of the committees that they need to make significant changes to the way they raise money, says a source close to the Las Vegas Sands CEO.
    • Adelson was the top individual donor in the past election with $112 million in contributions. He might consider pulling back contributions to Republican super PACs, as well.

Sheldon Adelson, the biggest Republican donor, wants key GOP fundraising groups to shape up after this year's midterm wipeout in the House or risk losing his support for the 2020 election cycle, CNBC has learned.
Adelson's closest advisors are preparing to warn the heads of the GOP congressional fundraising committees that they need to make significant changes to the way they raise money if they want to see the Las Vegas Sands CEO invest in the 2020 congressional elections, according to one of Adelson's top lieutenants, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Adelson and members of his inner circle are frustrated with the top Republican fundraising organizations, such as the National Republican Congressional Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Republican National Committee, particularly in the way their consultants handled being outraised throughout the 2018 midterms, according to this person.

"The money will no longer go to inefficient organizations," this person said. "You have to give them time to reform but if they are resistant to it, we will have to leave them behind."
Adelson was the top individual donor in the past election with $112 million in contributions. Less than $200,000 of that total went to the committees he's considering walking away from. Adelson gave more than $100,000 to the NRCC and more than $33,000 each to the RNC and NRSC, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Adelson's frustrations may also lead to a cutback in donations to Republican super PACs, including the Congressional Leadership Fund and the Senate Leadership Fund, said people close to the casino mogul. Adelson gave more than $40 million combined to these two PACs in 2018.
Adelson has also been a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump's and became a top financier of his during the 2016 presidential election.
Democrats are projected to gain at least 39 seats in the House, while Republicans are set to pick up two seats in the Senate.

Sheldon Adelson: I Didn't Leave The Democrats, They Left Me
    Nov 7, 2012
Adelson then goes on to explain why he left the party, and, unlike his critics claim, it isn’t because he “got wealthy” or because he “didn’t want to pay taxes or because of some other conservative caricature.” One example Adelson points to is the Democratic Party’s “new attitude toward Israel.”
“Nowhere was this change in Democratic sympathies more evident than in the chilling reaction on the floor of the Democratic convention in September when the question of Israel’s capital came up for a vote,” the entrepreneur writes.
“Anyone who witnessed the delegates’ angry screaming and fist-shaking could see that far more is going on in the Democratic Party than mere opposition to citing Jerusalem in their platform.” He also observed that there is, today, “a visceral anti-Israel movement among rank-and-file Democrats,” something that his parents’ generation “would not have ignored.” He adds:

Mega-donor Adelson, with access and influence, scores two pro- Israel victories
These are heady days for casino billionaire and megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
A passionate and hawkish advocate for Israel with close ties to its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Adelson was in Jerusalem today for a celebration of the U.S. embassy’s relocation to that city, a longstanding priority for the mogul. Similarly, Adelson had pushed hard for President Donald Trump to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, which happened last week.
And the day after that announcement, Adelson quietly slipped into the White House for a private meeting with Trump and three top administration officials: Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and an Adelson favorite, National Security Adviser John Bolton, according to two conservative sources familiar with the previously unreported private event.

Adelson: US should drop atomic bomb on Iran
American-Jewish billionaire blasts Obama over negotiations with Tehran; says US should show Iran nuclear capabilities.

NEW YORK – During a panel at Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening, Sheldon Adelson, noted businessman and owner of the newspaper Israel Hayom, suggested that the US should use nuclear weapons on Iran to impose its demands from a position of strength.
Asked by moderator Rabbi Shmuley Boteach whether the US should negotiate with Iran if it were to cease its uranium enrichment program, Adelson retorted, “What are we going to negotiate about?”

Adelson then imagined what might happen if an American official were to call up an Iranian official, say “watch this,” and subsequently drop a nuclear bomb in the middle of the Iranian desert.
"Then you say, ‘See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran. So, we mean business. You want to be wiped out? Go ahead and take a tough position and continue with your nuclear development. You want to be peaceful? Just reverse it all, and we will guarantee you that you can have a nuclear power plant for electricity purposes, energy purposes’," Adelson said.
“So a tremendous demonstration of American strength?” Boteach clarified. “So that they would get the message?”
“It’s the only thing they understand,” Adelson said.
