Now I believe there is some law against political advertisements right before an election - but a "voters guide" - just reminding people of their representatives voting record - that's a different issue.

Just the facts - who voted for what and what were the repercussions on our civil liberties of these votes.

It would have to be the best money spent on this campaign to date. USA Today, NY Times, maybe one or two others that get read nationally.

As well, I think you will find that voters would be interested to know a guesstimate of the value of the Congressperson's home, obtainable via "comps," and the cost of tuition if any of their more-equal-than-other-children children are in private schools.

I feel certain that voters want to see the Congressional health and welfare benefits delineated in black and white and green all over, including their pensions. For fun, off to the side...do you call those Slim Jims?...perhaps a trivia quiz on Corruption In Office.

Just my advice: make it a single issue campaign. Just attack the bailout angle. We got more resonance from that than the whole presidential bid.

Make a special purpose slim jim and place the URLs of our leading organizations on it. The slim jim is the honey pot. We lure them in with this single issue and draw them into the movement.

That's what I plan to do.

Think we are talking different goals and perspective here.

I'm suggesting getting real change in Congress and some of our people in there. You're aiming to recruit boots on the ground.

Newspapers deliver themselves, cost less per copy and are ment to reach a wide audience. Slim jims reach fewer people.

As to single issue - many are still angry about the bailout and will be in a month, but some have been soothed into compliance and believe the intervention is necessary. Reminding them of what's happened since 2001 and pointing out that THEIR representative voted to take their civil rights away, for the war, etc. is likely to push over even the fence sitters. (Though not the neocon cheerleaders).

This could make a difference in the election.

If kept completely objective and neutral, sending copy to newspapers all over the country could result in free print runs too - especially the community papers.

The thing IS, that MOST of the people do not understand the HORRID things that were IN those Acts, that made them so horrible. Most think the bailout was a "buy-in" for the American people. They now think Congress failed them. They think the Patriot Act was for Patriots. They still think it was Iraq or Arab countries just like them who performed "9/11". They do not see that blowing up the neighborhood where a serial killer lived is not the way to go. Somehow, those issues would have to be described, simply, as the Communistic, Socialistic, Fascist legislation that they were (are).
