Thread: Ron Paul needs allies in Congress - post allies from your state here

Ron Paul needs allies in Congress - what Liberty won their primary in your state?

This whole bail-out episode just goes to show how a few principled conservatives can seriously rock the boat on Congress.

Seriously, although they're saying most of the House Republicans are fighting this, it really seems to just be a handful, the one getting the most notoriety of course being Ron Paul.

Well we've done our part here in WA.

We are lucky enough to have three.

    Doug Cloud - http://www.dougcloud.com

    Michael Delavar - http://www.delavarforcongress.com

    Jim Postma - http://www.postma.com

I know the Delavar's, but since they live so far away the one I'm supporting is Doug Cloud.

He could really use some support and a few donations!

    Please check him out:

You're not sure if he actually holds Ron Paul's key positions?

Ron should use these times way better then he is. I mean don't get me wrong, he does go on TV shows and preaches the same old story about how you Americans got your self into this mess

but what I think him and Peter should really do is just go nuts on one of those shows and say: "I told you so! If you would have listened to me, this would have never happened. So you better start now, before it gets a 100times worse then it already is!".

Ron Paul's been around a while. On the political scene for years. I think he understands that patience and caution are most effective.

If he was as worried about the short-term as some here were, I think his rhetoric would be a bit more urgent. Both he and Tom Woods have discussed how, even though our freedoms are constantly under attack ,they realize how slow government tends to work.

Of course, there are giant leaps forward (backward?) from time to time...

Oh, he definitely holds similar views to RP...enough to win my vote...but I haven't looked at every single view he holds from an alliance perspective so I am not 100% on that and I never want to come across as 100% if I am only 99%. That's why I linked to his website...so people can form their own opinion.

Same thing with Doug Cloud. I'd say, since he is a Misesian, he's about 90-95% on the money, although he may emphasize different things and see different solutions.

Any asswipe who's first priority is to "Defend/Protect America" IS NOT close to Dr. Paul's philosophies.

Defending America is something we all here are interested in (except anarcho-capitalists)... so what you said was vague. Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. is not defending America...

So, we shouldn't defend America, we should just let other countries trample on us? There is a difference between invading Iraq and defending America.

Read what he says beyond the the title.

    Have you read Michael Scheuer?

I'm anarcho-capitalist, yet I think Americans should be defended from attackers.

I'm also a member of the Republican Party, though, because I see a distinction between how I wish things were and how they really are. I'm just working to get there...

Oh, and Doug Cloud's opponent is apparently a CFR member.

Wouldn't that be sweet to boot out a CFR member for an ally of Ron Paul!

    Anyone else?

If not, I'll try again later....

Define "Defending America" without any need for DHS and the likes..(Don't give me the strong borders argument..Mexico is not our enemy). As Ron said nobody can dare "trample" us.

Are there any Liberty candidates running in New Jersey?

I was following the Sabrin primary campaign, but that's all I ever heard about.
