Why can't everybody else leave everybody else alone?

    Read them.

If we expect customers to be able to get what they need in an emergency, when demand zooms vendors must be allowed and encouraged to increase their prices.
I agree with this article. But why encourage vendors to raise prices? I don't think that should have been left in that article.

Good stuff. Price gouging makes matters worse.

Price gouging insures that people will only take what they need, leaving some for everyone else.
"Anarchists oppose the State because it has its very being in such aggression, namely, the expropriation of private property through taxation, the coercive exclusion of other providers of defense service from its territory, and all of the other depredations and coercions that are built upon these twin foci of invasions of individual rights." -Murray Rothbard

That's a good way of explaining it to the regular folks. But I don't like the term "price gouging," it sounds sinister. How about price increase? market tax? uhh supply & demand?

Price gouging has that term for the specific purpose of separating it from something related to rational supply and demand.

As it is now with gas prices being dollars higher in some states over others, price gouging is almost always a result of speculation and rumor-mongering. Price gouging is NOT in line with supply and demand and is when prices are artificially higher.

It's like an OPEC for gas stations... Not that there's anything wrong with that.
