Jesse Ventura did not support liberty as governor
and the people did not like him
he's also a pretty dumb person... let's be honest. i know more economics than him
I've changed my mind on Ventura. Don't want him anymore after finding out more about him.
No one can speak for me. No man is above me. None may exercise authority over me while I stand on my own property. The only valid law is the Natural Law discoverable by every man's ability to reason.
I supported him and liked him as governor. And I still like him. He must know something about economics. During his time as governor, was the only time that I know of that our state had a surplus of money and we all got a tax rebate check in the mail. And no it wasn't like Bush's stimulus checks that came from money printed out of thin air.
I don't understand all the Ventura hate. He would totally have a better chance as 3rd party than any of these current bozos. Probably even a better chance than RP had as a Republican.
he's probably the only 3rd party candidate who would actually have a chance of winning the presidency seeing how he won 10 years ago in Minnesota. He'll reform the electoral process, that should be the priority to save the country. Plus who knows, maybe he'll bring ron and other honest politicians on his administration.
oops this is for 2008. I have made a new one for 2012!![]()
These dogmatic liberaltarians are so politically inept its frightening. Don't worry, maybe the less intellectual common man will be enough to put Ventura in the white house. (I'm a huge Austrian Economics fan by the way, but libertarians can come off so snotty and nerdy at times its sickening-->see lew rockwell's speech where he tells us to stop calling ourselves conservative when our main argument against republicans is that we are the REAL conservatives since day one of this movement).
There is another...Gary Johnson Republican 2012
if that fails, then
Gov. Ventura Independent 2012
He supported liberty more than any other gov in MN. You know Ventura was pretty much shut down in all he tried to do, right? I've never seen Democrats and Republicans (and media) so united as when Ventura was governor and they shut him down.
Source? I'm in MN, and everybody I know liked Ventura, still like him, and would love to see him as prez. Maybe you are just remembering what the media said about him? Ron Paul isn't the only politician who has been a target of the media. They lied and misquoted Ventura a lot.
If you think he's dumb, then he's probably smarter than you. It was his JOB for a long time to act as the stupid bad guy in pro wrestling. He was very good at it, and still is. People love to hear him talk, and the media can't ignore him. He probably got as much as, if not more, press coverage from the Rally For The Republic than Ron Paul did.
Ventura has a unique ability of taking a heavy topic and dumbing it down for the general public so they understand what the hell he's talking about. With Ron Paul, on the other hand, most people are just too ignorant and apathetic to try to understand what he's talking about and will just turn the channel instead.
Ventura also had some very good campaign people. He campaigned on a low budget, but had campaign ads that made Ron Paul's campaign ads look like shit. He has a lot of Hollywood friends that he could get help from as well.
Ventura definitely ain't no Ron Paul when it comes to economics and other issues... But imagine for a moment if Ventura took the time to learn, and had Ron Paul to help him. I think Ventura's the best chance for 2012. I don't see any other potential candidate going farther than Ron Paul did this year.
"No matter how noble you try to make it, your good intentions will not compensate for the mistakes that people make; that want to run
our lives and run the economy, and reject the principles of private property and making up our own decisions for ourselves." -Ron Paul
My Super 8 shuttle driver in Minneapolis said he really liked Ventura as Governor, and he told me about the budget surplus rebate checks.
