Thread: Nader / Paul '12?

  1. #1

    Cool Nader / Paul '12?

Im watching Paul and Nader on CNN right now and see some real chemistry.

Who would vote for them if they ran in '12?

I'm leaning Ventura/Paul for 2012 or vice versa

Oops, I voted no when I didn't realize there was the option of a Paul/Nader ticket.

    Yea,

i didn't go into depth with the poll but,

just wanted to see what people thought about this.

I think Paul / Nader would be a dream ticket.

    see, i told you so.

this conference has elevated nader's status.

there should have been no invited guests to this event during a campaign season. if this happened in february 2009, that would have showed solidarity, but this is going to be picked up by the MSM as an endorsement of nader, which mostof the CFL is not going to support, meaning a split of our group even further.

I'd rather see a Ventura/Paul ticket - much, much, better chance of getting MSM attention, getting into the debates, and being elected president.

Bad idea. I like both of these candidates, of course, but both Nader and Ron Paul will be in their upper 70s in 2012.

Thats fucking retarded. A free market guy and a socialist running on the same ticket? Words can't explain the idiocy and pointlessness of that.

Sure, I like Nader and love Paul.

Doubt it'd happen, but I'd vote for it.

As long as Paul is at the top of the ticket and Nader has a sea change of philosophy on economic issues.

Nader is against the War and Borrowing trillions and proping up failing banks.

Anything he could get done in the first four years would align with RP, they don't split until second term stuff.

the libertarian party presidential candidate does not ever benefit from putting himself on the same plane and playing field as other 3rd party candidates with lesser ballot access. that splits the vote. it was obvious that this would be a bad situation for the LP, and that the LP presidential candidate would be unlikely to attend. RP probably just didn't think of it that way in the heat of the moment, but, he too was a LP candidate at one point, and should have known that that has always been the way the LP candidate treats his campaign.

so, in a sense, he was free to show up, but he would have been forced to endorse the idea that a vote for chuck baldwin is just as good as a vote for the LP. same with Nader, McKinney, etc.

this whole thing right now is playing out like a bum deal, IMO, due to a mistake being made by everyone except for Ralph Nader, who swooped in like a vulture to pick the meat off our corpses.

please, please ron paul and bob barr step up and figure out a way to fix this.

bob barr's bopping off and avoiding the press conference
elevates nader and mckinney as well as chuck baldwin. if
barr had been serious about getting third parties into the
debate, this avoidance of the camera lens and mass media is
puzzling on his part. ron paul clearly wants a more inclusive string of
debates. this is to the question of the basic fairness of the playing field...

Who among the 3rd party candidates is closest to Paul's ideals?

Nader is against War and Empire as is Paul.
Nader is for Civil Liberties as is Paul.
Nader is against corporatism and bail outs as is Paul.
Nader is against deficit spending and debt as is Paul.
Nader is against the Federal Reserve as is Paul.
Nader is sincere and trustworthy as is Paul.

If Nader can manage to pull off free universal health care without the Fed's printing press or deficit spending, more power to him.

    Paul/Nader 2012.

Nader is and will always be a Man of the people... Although he takes it to extremes, having him as a VP that supports the views of RP would be PERFECT...

You're right, Nader is a socialist. I like the consumer protection though. No one person, corporation, or politician should be allowed to intentionally cheat/steal/threaten american people. RP said he didn't really believe in all Nader believes in.

To have about 50% people saying they'd vote for this ticket doesn't make any sense to me. I think they just like RP.

I see Nader changing his tune... Rather than forcing policy to force corporations into doing or not doing certain things, put in place a ideology of people's rights, and if corporations infringe on them... they will face the penalty.

If you ask me, Nader during that CNN interview sees the draw of Paul, understands his message, and realizes that liberty is the answer to even Nader's concerns...

Ralph has helped the Campaign for Liberty greatly by joining RP's coalition.

The argument for choosing the lesser of 2 evils has been thoroughly debunked.
"They want to take over the state convention the way they did in Nevada," Kinney said. "They want to take the national convention. God help us if that happens."

That would be crimes and could be prosecuted as such. What Nader wants to do is to force regulations onto companies who are not infringing on any rights of the consumer. The market is self regulating and we should not be forcing regulations onto it.

I would only vote for it b/c Paul is on the ticket. Do you people that like Nader know what he stands for? He is a big government interventionist. And has a huge ego. Paul and Nader agree on the principles set forth, but in terms of a system of governance, no.
