Time to get to building a fallout shelter.

Good for Chavez, we need the enemies of the neocons to keep standing up to them.

Who the hell ISN'T afraid of us?

I daresay many of our "allies" have submitted to our rule because they fear us - Bush going around with an "Axis of Evil" list and declaring "You're either with us or against us".

Russia is going to be on whoever's side they think will win.

Remember, they were on Germany's side at the beginning of WWII.

I know, Germany attacked them first. But I think that Russia must have been interfering with the supply of petroleum to Western Europe or something. In other words, Russia was not a very good ally.

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it. Among many other things, you are assuming Russia's current leadership will think and act the exact same way as the leaders during world war two, leaders of a completely different regime.

I think Chavez expects some "Al Qaeda and other extremists" to pop up in Venezuela in the near future, requiring a US attack to liberate and spread democracy. Oh...and grab some more oil rich land...

"We have set them on the hobby-horse of an idea about the absorption of individuality by the symbolic unit of COLLECTIVISM. They have never yet and they never will have the sense to reflect that this hobby-horse is a manifest violation of the most important law of nature, which has established from the very creation of the world one unit unlike another and precisely for the purpose of instituting individuality."- A Quote From Some Old Book
