Ron Paul Wins 6 National Delegates from Idaho

Ron Paul's best primary state was yesterday's showing in Idaho, 24% of the GOP vote.
According to "The Green Papers," the foremost authority on the primary process, Ron Paul won 6 national delegates from Idaho.

This brings his current total to 42 national delegates.

Where does the delegate count of 42 come from? He got six in Idaho, five in pennsylvania, five in NC and at least 7 in NV

I find it pretty hard to believe that 60% of his delegates are coming from just four states.

Don't forget about the stealth delegates in your count

There isn't an exact count. It is more than likely a conservative estimate.

I have RP at 56 delegates for the first ballot, not counting RP supporters bound to other candidates. However, to receive votes at the convention RP must receive the support of the majority of delegates from 5 states, which is extremely unlikely at this point

Just support, not votes. I think we have enough already to accomplish this.

You are correct that it does say support, however, I don't think we will get that. I think the GOP will do all it came to not let Dr. Paul speak, or have someone else speak for him (nomination speech which they have to allow if he gets the 5 states). They will do everything thing they can to not acknowledge Dr. Paul or his supporters.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more threads on this.

C'mon folks, whoop it up some, best showing yet, by a "non running" candidate no less.

Props to the folks in Idaho!

As am I. I expected nothing from the media, and little from the campaign itself. But I AM surprised that it hasn't generated more excitement from the grassroots.

I know it wasn't the type of "win" that we would like to have achieved in a state, but given all we've been up against, and all that we've had to endure, I think that it is highly worthy of recognition and renewed enthusiasm. I know that many think it comes late, but it might be argued that, for that very reason, it is all that more impressive. Certainly, it demonstrates ongoing and increasing support of Dr. Paul and his message. Idaho.. and all of us.. should be proud!

Used Cnn's numbers which are a little low and 6 in Idaho instead of the 5 they said.

    Idaho: 6
    Penn.: 5
    NC: 5
    NV: 4+
    Washington: 5
    Oregon: 4
    Alaska: 5
    North Dakota: 5
    Iowa: 2

So thats about 41 Official Delegates + all the stealth ones. This means that Paul could easily surpass 100 delegates perhaps even more. Especially with Montana, South Dakota, and New Mexico he could likely get at least 10 more official delegates.

Putting a number on the delegate count, makes you a fken idiot.
Yes - that makes the MSM fcken idiots..

They CALCULATE, what SHOULD have happened. NOT, what DID. McCain supporter delegates went home, RP's stayed - this was supremely evident - for AGES, until Nevada , when we fken RWND. Then they woke up.

Here are the numbers I've seen, from CNN, the GreenPapers.com, and other sources:

    Alaska: 5
    Idaho: 5 to 6
    Iowa: 2 to 4
    Louisiana: 0 to 3
    Maine: 0 to 1
    Minnesota: 0 to 7
    Nevada: 4 to 8
    North Carolina: 5
    North Dakota: 5
    Oklahoma: 0 to 1
    Oregon: 4
    Pennsylvania: 3 to 5
    Washington: 0 to 5
    West Virginia: 0 to 3

That could bring the total as high as 62. Have we picked up any others in Texas or Missouri or anywhere else that went well at the state conventions?
Rand Paul is in the top 1% of US Senators.

If i Recall correctly North Dakota gave 11 to Ron Paul. Missouri we have 3 from but they are bound to McCain for the first ballot

Heres No1ButPaul08's spreadsheet showing the known delegate totals. 56 known Delegates so far.....
