Once again, the consumer pays for it out of his own pocket--if he wants to pay for it, let him...if he doesn't, then he can turn it off....just don't force either party to comply with the others wants/desires.

One of the fundamental ways Obama differs from our man Paul on foreign policy. Lots of short-sighted people say "they agree on foreign policy", but of course that's not even close to correct.
And I think it's part of the reason why Paul speaks out against the U.N., because we don't have to get "permission" from other countries to do what is best for us here, whether we're talking about military operations or gun rights or voting processes...
Happened with Bill Clinton too. Military intervention is okay if other prominent countries in the world also think it's okay. This kind of thinking is why Obama would probably send forces to Darfur, Myanmar, Iran, Kosovo (again), Venezuela....on and on.

The sentence after that one is the one I am really scared of..something about him as a leader stopping that behavior...
sadly, I doubt that....my guess is that there won't be elections...but that's just my opinion.

Either way, Coolidge, you're right; Democrats often say they're anti-war, but at the end of the day, they're not...they just go to war for differing reasons; if the UN wants it to happen, or it's to "protect human rights" or "provide foreign aid", then it's 100% fine, but if it's for some other reason, then they're immediately against it (in most cases).
Still, even more amazing is those that are anti-war will often go along with it because 'a liberal is leading'.
I don't have that much faith with most American people to see that happening...

the fact is we already require permission from other countries to sustain our standard of living. We need foreign governments (including largely undemocratic, non representative ones) to buy our national debt. The US is the largest debtor nation, and we enjoy cheap gas, food, etc. because these other countries pay for it with their own economies.
If you don't want more wars and more unconstitutional government, we have to live within our own means and stop asking the world to pay for our better living. Yeah its tough. Noone wants to regress to the early 1900's. But the choice is we either rebuild our production economy (work our asses off, instead of them falling off from sitting on the internet for most of the day) or we continue the gravy train, paid for by the blood of our soldiers, and our iron grip on the rest of the world.
This seems to be a topic that Obama and Paul agree on. But Obama wants to enforce it with communism. RP would let the dollar destroy itself, and we rebuild from the depths of a depression on the gold standard.
