    Ron Paul Spaceship Progress Report

I've gotten several emails from aerospace engineers and mathematicians and rocket scientists wanting to help. Also, couple people offered some money. That doesn't include the people from these message boards.

Several people have sent excellent emails, one with this link to a $1800 rocket which can reach the stratosphere. It was developed reticently at Cambridge. http://www.newscientist.com/blog/tec...-on-cheap.html

So besides the forums we have about 3 engineers, an aerospace engineer, electronics engineers and a maybe for an MIT Post grad working specifically on satellites. One guy who wants to do the same thing, only without a Ron Paul Satellite also gave me some tips from his research.

The rocket probably wont use Diet Coke and Mentos. lol

Everyone wants to know if this is a joke or not. Truth is, I don't know yet. It looks like we could actually pull this off. I do want to do it. It really wont be easy, but it's coming along. Magic is real folks.

Let's do it. Once we know we can get the rocket we need, we should contact the Lakota Nation and negotiate a place to launch.
It is not ideal to launch from the middle of a land mass because the rocket could land on someone's house... but we may have few options for launch sites.

I'm an unemployed fabricator and would be willing to help.
I am not certified at anything.
I have no piece of paper that says I "know" anything.

    I build stuff. Anything.

    I will work cheap.

p.s. was a rocketeer in my youth.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

You build the first ones, then we'll have them mass produced with cheap Saturnian labor and sell them at KMart. Throw in a hand held picture phone and a space telescope with the satellite and everybody gets their own satellite phone service included. Free forever.

Children, children.... I hate to be a party poop, but....

I am probably the biggest "space nut" on these forums but, do you REALLY think that this project is going to advance the cause of liberty?
This is quite apart from any questions of feasibility.

At best, it succeeds and 80% of the people think we are technologically savvy kooks that need to get a life.

At worst it fails and 99.9% of the people are convinced that ALL Ron Paul supporters are kooks that have no grasp on reality.

I will admit that part of this comes from my fears that you will inadvertently damage the credibility of something I take very seriously; space development in general and solar power satellites in particular.

I still remember with pain the damage Jerry Brown did to the concept with his "endorsement" of the concept during his presidential bid.

Just be aware of collateral damage, OK?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.C. S. Lewis

I belong to the NAR (nat'l assoc. of rocketry) www.nar.org. I have many friends in tripoli too. www.tripoli.org They have a huge national event http://www.ldrs27.org/ and Im sure if people are willing we could do something there. NOT orbital, but something say to 20000 to 30000 ft? paint it red, white and blue and call it FREEDOM 1.

    Okay so who is in?

Im not skilled enough to do something that big, but I know plenty of people that are. The highest i have flown something is 6000 feet

  16. #14
just so everyone knows YES, LDRS IS A REAL EVENT. I HAVE BEEN THERE. Loud rockets, probably a RP crowd too given the type of people I know. We may just have to ask someone with a big project there to get a nice custom paint job. Heck, we could video the whole thing and claim it did go into orbit (even though it wont) and the sheeple would believe it

  17. #15
Some one had said it couldn't be done and he with a chuckle replied " maybe it couldn't but he would be one who wouldn't say so till he tried" So he buckled right in with a trace of a grin on his face If he worried he hid it
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done and he did it.

it'll strike fear into the hearts of the neocons the way spudnik did.

anyway, I don't know what will happen... but I know what will happen if we don't make a rocket.... We wont have a rocket.

And just imagine the media's reaction if we actually do broadcast The Revolution from space, for people to hear all over the world.

I don't know if we'll be laughed at, but I already get laughed at for supporting Ron Paul, so hell with it.

I wish all you science and electronics-minded folks would get together and invent the car that runs on water or electro magnetic car or something similar. We could accociate it with Ron Paul movement (free market solutions for oil dilemma) and other energy related problems and make Ron Paul beloved throughout America. No one would any longer care about the Republican or Democratic parties and their "candidates". Ron Paul would be a shoe-in for the Presidency.

"Mr. Chairman, we have in this Country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks, hereinafter called the Fed. The Fed has cheated the Government of these United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the Nation's debt. The depredations and iniquities of the Fed has cost enough money to pay the National debt several times over. -Cong. Louis McFadden

tripoli.org is just the name of the org. Go to the website. Their event is in in rural kansas this year. Surprisingly, its all done legally, with an extraordinary amount of red tape

Just as an aside the ATF has come after model rocket flyers because we might be "terrorists"
