Thread: Manifesto comparison

    Default Manifesto comparison

I can see why Ron Paul called his new book "A Manifesto" - hinting at the infamous Communist Manifesto published by Engels and Marx in 1848. Below are measures Engels and Marx advocated in their book. Each one has an antithesis that Ron Paul has faught for. I haven't read Ron Paul's book yet but I would venture to guess each of these measures is dealt with in some manner as regarding the current economical and political state of the USA. This country is heading towards socialism/communism. I understand even better Ron Paul's passion to save the Republic.

What blows my mind most is that Marx was a moral reprobate. He refused to work. He refused to take care of his own family. Yet his ideas are embraced and followed...

    From The Communist Manifesto:

    1. The abolition of private property and inheritance rights.
    2. The redistribution of wealth through heavy, progressive income tax.
    3. A central state bank to control all credit and to maniputlate the nation's currency.
    4. Government control of all means of communication and transportation.
    5. Government ownership of all means of production (factories, farms, mines, power plants, etc.) and all natural resources.
    6. The abolition of unemployment through social welfare systems.
    7. The redistribution of the population (from sities to rural areas and vise versa).
    8. Mandatory state-supported education.

Ahhh, but Marx was an anti-capitalist. The socialists just love to suck all of that garbage up.

I think I just puked reading that. Every thing up there is completely against everything I stand for.

I have a friend who is a Marxist. He says our belief of freedom, liberty, etc, fall flat because it is a moral argument and that based on history the world is destined for a one nation socialist utopia. Funny that he hates the book 1984 though.
Conspiracy theories are just self-esteem boosters for those who have none. It empowers them with a feeling of being "in the know", and boosts their self-esteem by talking down to everyone as if they are sheep.

What's so moral about the most powerful and corrupt people in the world controlling everything? That's what I don't get regarding the utopia idea. Do these people really think that the power hungry are just going stop and disappear into the background for the good of all mankind? Wth goes through their minds? Really? When the UN "peacekeepers" start raping women and girls in their towns who is going to stop them or care?

I also find it funny that those who push for Marxist ideas seem to envision themselves as leaders, elites called to lead the masses to happiness...they tend to not envision themselves as "part of the masses" working in a shoe factory or something. Who does the dirty work in utopia and who gets to decide? No thanks.

My favorite manifesto so far is The S.C.U.M Manifesto by Solanas. I suspect RP's will outdo it though.

Marxists have elitist views. They think they're the intellectuals and the rest of the world is too dumb to do the same. Sorry, but coming up with a crummy philosophy that doesn't apply in the real world won't put bread on my table.

That's exactly it. He is actually a very smart guy, but he does believe he is doing a good thing "educating" everyone.

Nathan Rothschild had given Marx two checks for several thousand pounds to finance the cause of Socialism. The checks were put on display in the British Museum, after Lord Lionel Walter Rothschild, a trustee, had willed his museum and library to them.

IMHO, Socialism/Marxism has always been a manual of action, a well funded tool of the world financial elite.
"Masterful and arrogant wealth, created largely by Government protection of its profits, not content with its domination and influence within a single party, had sought to corrupt them both, and to that end had insinuated itself into the primaries, in order that no candidates might be nominated whose views were not in accord with theirs." (‘Colonel’ Edward Mandell House in 'Philip Dru: Administrator', circa 1912)

Hmm? That's very interesting. I hadn't heard that particular story before. It seems like a very reasonable answer to a whole lot of things.

No wonder Karl called for central banks as one of the Manifesto planks! < LOL >

Problem->Reaction->Solution The Hegelian Dialectic at work! Of course!

    Thanks!
