Elections are short term efforts. Revolutions are long term projects

I'm posting this because I want you all to know what we are doing in Ohio and I hope others will follow in our direction. Here's a message posted by the Columbus Ron Paul Meetup leader.

    Quote:

The Election or the Revolution? A Message from Jason Rink of the Columbus Ron Paul Meetup

"Elections are short term efforts. Revolutions are long term projects"
Ron Paul, March 7th, 2008, in his video message to his supporters.

The question is this: Were you only part of the short term project (the election) or are you in for the long term project (the Revolution)?

If you were only in this for the election, let me just say that I appreciate the dedication and passion that you brought to the Ron Paul campaign, as well as any time and resources you contributed in getting him elected. I mean that sincerely. You were a critical part in what started this Revolution. However, from this point on, the Columbus Ron Paul Meetup will be dedicated to focusing on the long-term project that lies before us.

For those of you who are in this for the Revolution, please read on.

Our short term effort ended last Tuesday with the Ohio Primary. However, our long term effort is just beginning to take shape. For the last few months, many of us have been discussing what is next. Lots of things are taking shape across the country, but there is still a great deal of uncertainty. Grassroots efforts cannot be forced. They can only be guided, and grow to a place of organic consensus with everyone involved.

Joe Bozzi has been in discussion with Steve Vincent and others who are behind ronpaulgrassroots.org and the Ron Paul National Grassroots Council. We will be working together with them as the national movement begins to take shape. Currently, a National March, Tax Day event, and an event coinciding with the release of Ron Paul's new book "Revolution: A Manifesto" are being discussed.

Also, as the Organizers of the Columbus Ron Paul Meetup, we have been trying to figure out where we see things going on a state and local level. In anticipation of this, we have begun to organize The Ohio Freedom Alliance, and are in the beginning stages of developing the websites ohiofreedom.org and ohiofreedom.com. Currently, we are planning on hosting a Peace, Prosperity and Freedom Convention here in Columbus, OH later this year.

The details of the Ohio Freedom Alliance can be seen here.

Let me be clear: we are not abandoning the Columbus Ron Paul Meetup. And, we will be working in tandem with the Ron Paul grassroots movement on a national level. I have simply added the Ohio Freedom Alliance Meetup as a "bridge" for the time being, to help identify people who are interested in moving in this new direction with us. Ultimately, the long term goal is to have an independent website and network in place which will essentially make Meetup (and all of its limitation) obsolete. However, it's all we have right now to keep in touch with everyone.

If you want to be part of the long term revolution here in Ohio, all you need to do is attend the Meetup on Wednesday March 12th. This will be the topic of discussion. You can RSVP here. If you can't make it, but are still planning on getting involved, please email me and let me know.

    Peace,

    Thanks Frank.

I think people who are disappointed were the ones who thought just about the election. I always knew it would be a hard, tough battle. We need to keep this going even after the election. As Ron Paul said himself "Revolutions are long term projects."

I like what the meetup group is planning and doing. I'm also glad to see that finally a meetup is on a Wednesday not a Monday and I can attend. Woo hoo! =)

Gung ho! Gung ho! Gung ho!

To my fellow Lions of Liberty; the Sun has just now broken the long night! We must now storm the ramparts of the Republican Party as they did in the State of Maine. We Ronulans must continue to take every seat to be had in the party. From the Precinct Committeeman and state committees ..all the way up and down the line, even the national chairman of the RNC seat must be won. Take this quote from Jack Hunter's resent article in your minds' eye for a moment.

"Ron Paul and his supporters have not yet taken over the Republican Party. But they are taking over the Republican Party. In many states, Paul supporters have become significant parts of the GOP apparatus and even Republican Party leaders. I remember the head of the Iowa GOP saying that Ron Paul shouldn’t be allowed in the next debate after Paul’s spat with Rudy Giuliani about “blowback” in 2007. That same position in Iowa is now held by a Ron Paul supporter."

We..each and every single person..on his own must take a seat in the party. We have the numbers and the love of Liberty on our side. The reigns of power must be taken from the Statist Keynesian War Mongering Neo-Cons. At the current rate we are on I can see a Ron Paul Republican holding the National Chairman seat by 2016. Paul himself has said "Elections are short term efforts. Revolutions are long term projects"...you and I know we are not the 'summer soldiers' or 'sunshine patriots' as Thomas Paine opined.

Do not lose your nerve just now as we are crashing the gates.

I am a proud man to be in the thick of it with you here and now at this moment in time. Let us press this Campaign for Liberty. Drive it to the Bedrock of the Constitution...and chain it to the Bill of Rights. In these actions let us remember and keep close to our hearts....the sprit Ron Paul imbues. He would want us to act with respect and tact toward our fellow man. Be he the socialist(dem) or the democratic-socialist(neo-con).

Semper Fi, Do or Die....my fellow Lions of Liberty. God Speed to you.
