I'm gonna have to get another job to support all of the people running on the liberty platform. At least that would be voluntary socialism. I would be doing it because I want to, not because the government tells me to.

actually yes, exactly. i've always given to charities, and especially to individuals who deserve it, vets and so forth. but when i became liable for income tax, i curtailed my giving... and it really angered me that i had to do so. later when my tribal status exempted me from federal taxes again, i got back to giving, and probably giving 3/4 as much as i'd been robbed in taxes - knowing the lesser amount still did more good. and it felt damned *human*.

i am not in a position to give much these days, even for the political causes i support, as i may have a little one on the way (and due the day after my own birthday! ... and this is my first mention of it in public) but i hope to be able to soon. sabrin and others are very worthy of anything we can do. just like ron's run, it's not so much about winning, as about setting a tone and a direction. a bit more about winning though, yes, in these smaller contests!

Thumbs up Welcome to the Lisa Leeds for House District 58 Campaign

Welcome to the Lisa Leeds for House District 58 Campaign. Lisa Leeds is excited to be your Libertarian candidate for Tennessee House District 58. Lisa Leeds has the courage to bring you a government of tolerance and individual responsibility. From tolerance comes peace, and from individual responsibility comes prosperity.

Lisa Leeds is the only candidate in Tennessee House District 58 that understands how the free market can be used to provide you better services (such as and healthcare and our children’s education) at a greatly reduced cost and a smaller tax burden. America and Tennessee were founded upon the concept of self-government. Founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry pledged their lives in defense of self-government. Tennessee became a state because in the late 1700s the people of western North Carolina wanted self-government. The prosperity of self-government allowed America to become one of the greatest nations in the world.

Judging from the map, it doesn't look like a very large area. (which is a good thing ) How dense is the population in your area?

In any case, I wish you the best of luck.

edit: oh wait, that's nashville. probably pretty populated. doh!
