    Cream of Mushroom Soup

Gauging the economy by the price of Cream of Mushroom Soup.

    At my local store:

    2 years ago: $.89 cents
    Last year: $1.19
    Today: $1.69

What's the price change in terms of gold or silver?

Price of bread and wheat products is something to keep an eye on. A few stores are reporting the prices of bread over $5 a loaf. But this is more an issue of wheat shortage and not so much inflation.

Never heard mushrooms to have a shortage.

Cosco still has COMS at a decent price.
    8 Cans for 6 bucks

1.69 is ridiculous for 1 can

Bread on the other hand is just going to keep going up.

As little light and as much fertilizer as we have seen over the last several years, I don't expect that to happen any time soon...

Perhaps the COMSI is a leading indicator.

With the cream in it, since we now fuel our vehicles with it, the price has gone up.

Corn = fuel for vehicles, competition.

Perhaps Cream is the leading indicator.

Perhaps that explains why milk is selling for 4.00 to 5.00 per gallon at HEB...
