Yeah, unfortunately I think you are correct.

I'd also like to see Rand Paul run in 2012 - he sounds so much like his dad (and has campaigned for him this election). He'd had the name recognition by then and would already be starting out with the revolution that his dad started in 2008.
Thank you for all of your service Ron Paul. You have awakened a great number of liberty minded folks, and inspired many to run for office themselves.

I say we hold a convention in November to decide upon a candidate.

I don't think he will be too old, he is the same age as McCain but a lot healthier and nobody calls him too old. If you've ever been around Ron in person you would know that he is vibrant.

True as that may be, I can't imagine the types of days he's putting in right now. And then again in 4 more years? I dunno. I hope so, but I dunno.

    you guys...

do you even know if rand paul has ANY political experience?
how much do you know about him at all other than he can speak for his dad?
i'm sure PLENTY of us could give great speeches on ron pauls platform but that doesnt mean those people are qualified to RUN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH OF THE UNITED STATES.

he is NOT GOING TO BE PRESIDENT IN 4 YEARS.
he has a lot of political catching up to do to even be considered for candidacy. maybe he can make it in in like 12 or 20 years if he starts getting a political career in gear, if he even wants it. (and if we've taken the country back by then, cause if not we might not even be having elections )

i dont get how you guys don't get this. rand paul is not his father. he is his own man. riding on his name might get him started off to another position in government easier, but it sure as hell isn't getting him anywhere near a presidency.

Too old? Then by your logic if he would have won this election, then in 4 years he should not run for re election. Correct?

i think he meant too old for the general public to consider him viable.

its a lot easier to re-elect a president that did a good job, than to elect a president that you have doubts about to his first term.

i'm sure most of the revolution people wouldnt care how old he was as long as he was in functioning health. but that might not be the public's perception.

that's a hard one to say though. if the $#@! REALLY hits the fan in the next 4 years, and ron is the only real advocate for change again, people may not care about his age at all. really depends on the circumstances i think.

Considering he already has Ronpaul2012.com registered, I don't think he's 100% ruling it out And likely by then his name may indded be a household name.

Heh, then again - maybe the domain is registered for his re-election campaign!

    Now THAT is interesting.

Hmmm... well, who knows. He'd be one of the oldest people to run for president in history.

EDIT: I went to whois and couldn't find Ron Paul or any of his affiliates as the registrant. What tipped you off?

I am with you both here. If not now then 2012. Rand comes later. he needs seasoning. They would love to have to have us slog up the hill of recognition under their withering fire one more time.

In a sense, that is true. But we have to rely on politicians and well-known figures who have merely similar views to Dr. Paul, so long as they embrace limited goverment wholeheartedly.

Mark Sanford is certainly a limited government type. He marched pigs into the South Carolina capitol as a protest, for goodness' sake.

The wisdom of age in his case will be a beautiful and marvelous thing to behold.

I did a whois - and it didn't say "Ron Paul" It was some other name, but the 2012.com domain was registered to the exact same person/organization as the 2008.com domain. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that suggests to me we're looking at the same owner for both.
