    What's Your SHTF Backup Plan?

Mine is to travel on foot to southern Alaska wilderness. They would never find me for a draft etc. there in the "big empty"

Cons - There are wolves, moose and grizzly there.

    :/

I would refer you to the Bearing Arms subforum in the Liberty Forest
"Your mother's dead, before long I'll be dead, and you...and your brother and your sister and all of her children, all of us dead, all of us..rotting in the ground. It's the family name that lives on. It's all that lives on. Not your personal glory, not your honor, but family." - Tywin Lannister

Okay, I wasn't sure because this isn't necessarily about weaponry.

Oh I know --- I was just pointing you there based on bears/wolves, etc.

I'd love to buy some land up in Alaska.

Yeah, Alaska is still full of natural resources because it very inhabitable.

Yea, inhabitable. Getting up there on foot would be quite a mission, and once there, survival would be pretty touch. I think somewhere in the rural mountains in the continental USA would be where I'd want to go.

Maybe you need to rent the movie "Grizzly Man" the true story of Timothy Treadwell. Then ponder the many situations you may encounter. The wilderness has already been bugged by the bastards. Better get ready to take her back instead of running.

I own a small farm in the UP of Michigan. I am working toward becoming self sufficient, or at least self sustaining.
In any kind of SHTF situation, you will want to be outside of any Cities, but still within trade routes.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.
