I sent this out to a lot of our Christian friends today, many of whom are in the military. Quite a few are in Maryland and Texas, so aren't voting yet. I wish I had gotten it out sooner though. Also hope it was accurate, I tried to be as accurate as possible.

The links are part of a project I've been working on (it's in draft form right now). I let people form their own ideas after reading the articles. I also gleaned a lot from the forums here (added the military contribution totals and some pod casts). I have an eight page Word doc if anyone wants it...pm me with your email. Hopefully this will translate...all my formats seem to be lost though here in the forum.....

Before you vote on Tuesday, I urge you to please listen to the pod cast linked below. It is a must hear for all Christians before voting on Tuesday. We deserve an informed choice, and the media has been shutting out a true Christian candidate and patriot in this election, Congressman Ron Paul. The podcast has Ron Paul’s wife of 51 yrs, Carol Paul, granddaughters, and later himself discussing his walk and how his faith affects the issues:

http://godsipod.com/podcast_res/isra.../IA_080202.m4a (AAC Audio for iPod, iTunes, Zunes, and better quality)
http://godsipod.com/podcast_res/isra.../IA_080202.mp3 (MP3 for greater compatibility, but lesser quality)

If you have a bit more time, there is also an excellent YouTube video by a homeschooling mom here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=393BLypi1cc. She addresses many of the questions people have about Ron Paul when questioning why Christians should vote for Dr Ron Paul. She also mentions the following reference: http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/, an excellent site with many of his articles.

The final link that is great to see before you cast your vote. Congressman Ron Paul had an excellent rally in Denver that you can see here: http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=85630 (left side of the page…there are 4 parts).

Or, there are two other versions of the same rally.

The full version on YouTube is in 5 parts:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN6kFiG_0FY
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_xKqI_R-n0
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oj4GvKDgMc
Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsP_vROravM
Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjGonWYX_eA
Or this version has been edited to make it shorter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12htohP_ZSU.

Even if you have already voted, please take time to listen, and pass it on if you will to other Christians who might be interested. There are more elections after Tuesday. Congressman Paul has taken 2nd in several states, but the media has not reported it. They have gone so far to list only the first and third winners of a state (NV). And, the Republican convention is not a done deal, the delegate counts do not work by popular vote, and the rules change state to state. And, there will be undecided delegates at the time of the convention that will affect the outcome.

Below is some more information about current laws and programs that are taking large bites out of our individual liberties with links to more details. All are being sold as being for our protection and safety, or for the general good of the world. However, taken as a whole, they paint a scary picture of the direction our country is heading. It is a direction far away from the principals found in the Constitution. Ron Paul is the only candidate that opposes these laws and has introduced legislation to move us back to our Constitutional roots.

Finally, Ron Paul is pro-life. He is an OB/GYN and has delivered over 4000 babies. He constitutionally believes it should be a state issue, not federal (based on the powers that the Constitution gives and withholds from the federal government). However, he does not hesitate to say he is pro-life.

Thank you for your time and consideration. For more information on Congressman Ron Paul: www.ronpaul2008.com.

Real ID, RFID & NAIS

Real ID:

The Real ID Act of 2005 was passed as a rider on H.R. 1268, a military spending and tsunami relief bill, "Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, 2005." (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:H.R.1268: ). There was no debate on this legislation. It violates the first, fourth, and tenth amendments. It is opposed by many states and civil rights groups. It will be eventually required for travel, banking, job verification…and yes, to buy and sell. They already have stated that once they start enforcing it, you will not be able to travel by air or enter federal property without it. The ID itself features a picture of North America, not just the United States. It is not only a de facto national ID, but also an international ID card. There are better ways to strengthen our security; we do not need a Real ID card.

Congressman Ron Paul was one of only a few that stood against the Real ID Act when it was voted on. All the current candidates support Real ID. In various statements, Huckabee, Obama, and Clinton have said they only oppose it due limited funding, and simply want to add more funding to implement it in the states. Other candidates just flat out support it (McCain). Ron Paul is the only candidate that has gone on record saying he would work to repeal it.

RFID & NAIS:

RFID stands for Radio-frequency Identification and is a method of automatic identification that retrieves and stores data using transponders or RFID tags. There are passive, active and semi-active tags. RFID can be used on products to track inventory. There are also sub-dermal (implantable) RFID tags for use in humans and animals. RFID can also now be applied with special ink via tattoo.

The USDA has a program called NAIS (National Animal Identification System), it is also known as AIN (Animal Identification System). Their goal is to chip or tag (via RFID chips or tattoos) every animal in the United States. The beginning phase is “voluntary”. It is slated to be mandatory later.

Already USDA officials have fought their way onto family farms with sheriffs to forcibly implement their NAIS/AIN program. Those in opposition are told they will have to relinquish their animals if they do not submit to the program. The costs of the program for those who do submit will put many of our family farms out of business. By accepting the program, farmers (and also those who just own a few animals), also accept the government’s right to come in and destroy their livestock for whatever reason it deems necessary. The Amish are already leaving farming as an income source in some states due to this program (although USDA officials deny this is why they are stopping, the Amish have spoken out through other Christians on the internet).

Eminent Domain

“Eminent Domain in common law legal systems is the inherent power of the state to seize a citizen's private property, expropriate property, or rights in property, without the owner's consent. The property is taken either for government use or by delegation to third parties who will devote it to "public use." The most common uses of property taken by eminent domain are public utilities, highways, and railroads”. http://en.wikipediaorg/wiki/Imminent_Domain

The International Baccalaureate Organization can be found here: http://www.ibo.org/general/who.cfm. Go to their mission statement...children ages 3-19 are their target students and they say much, but this statement caught my eye: "To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment."

There is a great thread on by a homeschooling mom of six in Michigan who really seems to know much more on Huckabee and homeschooling than I do frankly...her tag is "Spunky" and the entire thread had a lot of great info. If you click her name, her blog will come up. However, if you don't have time to read the entire thread, scroll down to around "November 26, 2007 at 9:19 pm" for some great info. Here's that thread: http://dhgrassrevolt.wordpress.com/2...homeschoolers/. The UN/IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) diploma was able to enter the Arkansas educational system under Huckabee’s direction, and this legislation undermines parental rights.

The FDA has now decided that it sees no safety problems with eating milk and meat from cloned animals. This means that milk and meat from cloned animals can be appear in supermarkets, without any labeling, even though a majority of clones have birth defects, deformities and weakened immune systems. The host mothers (carriers) are often pumped full of hormones as well to prevent miscarriage. This can affect the proteins in the animal, and hormones can be passed to consumers as well. We have no way of knowing how that will affect our own bodies, or those of our children, down the line. The FDA has been known to make mistakes and recall later. There was just a piece on tv on how the FDA is broken, over worked, and although better than many other countries, they miss a lot. I think lobbying from certain sectors is why this is being pushed through the FDA without labeling. I say they should let us decide if we want to avoid their "approved" cloned meat. Yes, it will be an extra expense I'm sure to do so, but we can vote with our dollars. We deserve a choice. In our family, we have been eating more organic foods. I want to know if the animals our beef and milk come from originated from a clone, not just if it was free-range and chemical free after birth. By not disclosing and requiring labeling of cloned food products, the FDA also violates some people's religious beliefs. There are also organizations fighting this and a petitioning to make the government legally bound to label food to give consumers a choice, http://cu.convio.net/labelclonedfood.

Marriage

Please read this from Ron Paul about the Federal Marriage Amendment:

Conservatives in particular should be leery of anything that increases federal power, since centralized government power is traditionally the enemy of conservative values. http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul207.html

War

Please read this by Ron Paul:

He spells out the Just War Theory in his speech to the House.

My beliefs aside, Christian teaching of nearly a thousand years reinforces the concept of “The Just War Theory.” This Christian theory emphasizes six criteria needed to justify Christian participation in war. Briefly the six points are as follows:

War should be fought only in self defense;
War should be undertaken only as a last resort;
A decision to enter war should be made only by a legitimate authority;
All military responses must be proportional to the threat;
There must be a reasonable chance of success; and
A public declaration notifying all parties concerned is required.
The war in Iraq fails to meet almost all of these requirements. This discrepancy has generated anger and division within the Christian community. http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/co...6/cr062906.htm

Ron Paul receives the most military donations among Republicans AGAIN in Q3

It appears our military backs Ron Paul in the most important issue facing the United States: Terrorism and our foreign policy. For the second time in a row, Ron Paul receives more donations among Republicans. Data for Democrats is not yet available, but Ron Paul crushed Democrats in this statistic last quarter as well.

Ron Paul led in military contributions last quarter as well:

Ron Paul leads ALL ‘08 candidates with over one-fourth of military contributions for Q2

Earlier, we reported military contributions among Republican presidential candidates place Ron Paul on top at 49.5%, with nearly as much as all Republicans combined.
A more complete compilation of statistics by Phreadom shows that presidential candidate Ron Paul leads all 2008 presidential candidates in military contributions from the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and war veterans. Presidential candidate Ron Paul leads with an impressive one-fourth* of all contributions this second quarter according to newly released data from the FEC.
Ron Paul currently has more cash-on-hand than John McCain this quarter, and this new information is indicative of Ron Paul’s success. It appears that our soldiers and war veterans have an affinity to, or inclination for Ron Paul’s non-intervention principle - defending our homeland and pursuing terrorists, but no nation-building.
Military contributions for Q2
Ron Paul 26.23%
Barack Obama 24.02%
John McCain 18.31%
