Awesome. I quite like Marsha Blackburn as well.
In my area, "Face the Nation" is usually on 10:30 to 11:30 eastern time.
Today, for some reason, (?) it will not be shown till 1:30.
Any way, I found this article about some of his statements during the show.
Rand Paul: Send CR to conference
By GINGER GIBSON | 9/29/13 10:46 AM EDT
Sen. Rand Paul says Congress should send the continuing spending resolution to keep government open to conference to hash out the differences between the House and Senate bills.
"Why don't we have a conference committee on this?" the Kentucky Republican said on CBS's "Face the Nation." 'We could appoint one today and have one tomorrow to hash out the difference."
Paul was supportive of the House vote early Sunday morning to amend the CR that would keep government open by reattaching measure meant to undermine Obamacare. The move by the House drastically increased the prospect of a shutdown as Senate Democrats and the President Barack Obama have said they won't accept a bill that delays or damages the health law.
Democrats have been calling for a conference committee on the budget for months now. It's been House Republicans and a group of conservatives senators who have opposed moving to conference on the budget.
"We've been trying for more than six months to get Republicans to approve a conference committee on the budget," Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said on the program in response to Paul.
In his appearance, Paul also pressed that Republicans are the ones attempting compromise by amending the CR and Democrats are the ones who are shutting down the government.
"We are the party that is willing to compromise," he said. "They're the party that says no way, we're not touching Obamacare."
Paul echoed the Republican sentiment that they don't want to shut down government. "I've been saying all along that it's not a good idea to shut down the government," he said.

There's nothing that a committee of smart fearless people behind close doors wouldn't be able to achieve.
Uploading tube now.

I like how Rand pointed out how Obama is basically fear-mongering and blackmailing, in so many words, to force ACA in its current form.

Thanks for adding it to the OP, jct
he did good job,
rewritten history with armies of their crooks - invented memories, did burn all the books... Mark Knopfler
Rand is correct... Obama is a Dictator on ObamaCare, he's changing it by giving the "Connected" deals to OP OUT/whatever... right there that nullifies it as far as I'm concern.
Just like the any of the "enforced tax laws", they are unconstitutional because they are not levied the same across all Americans

Salient points to me;
800,000 government workers unemployed
No forced healthcare
Sounds like a damn good start.
Rand Paul should not talk about compromising. Obamacare has:
- Lower quality care and doctors quitting, like Communism
- Death panels to get rid of the elderly and unwanted people, like Hitler
- Fines and imprisonment with 20,000 new IRS agents to enforce fine collection and target Americans for jail, like a "police state"
- Violation of conscience, which is against God's unalienable rights - and evil
- Rations and delays, like communism
- Abortion, which is murder
- Unwise Dollar destroying debt - now already exposed to cost twice as much, which is treason
- Lower salaries / higher unemployment due to employers laying off workers or reducing hours due to Obamacare fees
- Additional taxes to be paid off paychecks for "healthcare"
- Attacks to undermine the Constitution, which is treason
- Possible tainted blood as the government failed health management and gave tainted blood to veterans the news reported June 30, 2010
- Reduced wages as many companies are reducing workers to part time to avoid Obamacare fees
- Obama healthcare exchanges cost more than double what Obama said
- Higher prices on what we buy as it was withheld by Obama, Reid, Pelosi... that businesses will be heavily taxed, for example ATT alone has to pay $1 billion or more in extra fees and this will passed on to the people
- "Government" control of all your health records, like Communism
$500 billion-plus in over 20 new taxes, which many consider to be extortion
- Extra tax on home sales, which is unconstitutional
- $86 Billion increase in Medicare Payroll Tax
- Americans lose control as panels make decisions for you, like Communism
- Exempts illegal aliens from Obamacare taxes so Americans have to pay more, which is treason
- Without consent payments - Obamacare connects to your bank account
- Americans treated by less qualified people, as there already is a doctor shortage due to Obamacare bringing in millions of foreigners, as in Communism and treason
- Unconstitutional Hitler type 1099 tracking of business sales over $600
- A "healthcare" Hitler type army to be used inside the USA against Americans called the Ready Reserve Corps
- 7 million Americans to lose health coverage- 41% of small business stopped hiring due to Obamacare as of June 2013- Spouses losing coverage at UPS and others- 107% cost increase in subsidies
- and more evil

Rand is playing this very well. He actually comes off as a moderate.
And most of the Tea Party and hard right conservatives are not going to like talk of compromise. Most of them I know want Obamacare abolished. Meanwhile Cruz is taking a harder stance than Rand on this. I hope it doesn't backfire on him (although I understand it may be the only way to negotiate in the Senate). I'm not sure his tone and language in this interview was tough enough. It sounded a bit like capitulation to me. (trying to be as objective as possible here).
He did well. But I'm amazed how Rand remained so calm in answering questions when the media pawn is shamelessly presenting Dems assertions as FACTS without adding qualifiers like "they say/claim".
MAGA Allies: 'Bully Israel with undeclared nukes steals land'
Dangerous conspiracy theories on Right claim MAGA fake frontgroup
Poll: Should US apologize for financing radicalization of Afghan children in 80s?
Obama-Clinton Years: A Violent Chapter in World History
Trump: If (Neocon) Adelson Backs Rubio "He'll Have Total Control" Over Him
Delta variant, death of 9 Chinese engineers in terror attack led to airport chaos & quick Kabul fall?
That Rand can speak persuasively that Republicans are the party of compromise and come off as a moderate scares me in a really really good way.
"Freedom, then Pizza!" - Oklahoma State GOP Convention 5/11/2012
It depends on how far the election is form the shutdown. If it's like 3 years from the shutdown, people would have moved to other things. And since most people dislike Obamacare, they would remember the shutdown as the thing which began to dismantle it, which would be a positive for them, so that would make Cruz more electable.

Obamacare is the worst possible answer. All it does is perpetuate a flawed system by forcing everyone to become a client of insurance companies, even those who don’t want to or need to participate. Why should anyone be forced to subsidize the medical care of others? Very few individuals would personally assault their neighbors at gunpoint and steal thousands of dollars to pay for their own medical needs. How could any freedom loving person agree to delegate such criminal acts to the government by supporting a compulsory health insurance system?
There is only one solution that will lead to true health and true freedom: making health care more affordable. Ron Paul believes that only true free market competition will put pressure on the providers and force them to lower their costs to remain in business. Additionally, Ron Paul wants to change the tax code to allow individual Americans to fully deduct all health care costs from their taxes.
Through these measures and the elimination of government-sponsored health care monopolies a much larger number of people will be able to finally access affordable health care, either by paying for medical insurance or by covering their medical expenses, which are now much lower, out of their own pocket.
As for the poor and the severely ill who can neither obtain insurance nor pay for the medical care they need, Ron Paul offers the following solution:
In the days before Medicare and Medicaid, the poor and elderly were admitted to hospitals at the same rate they are now, and received good care. Before those programs came into existence, every physician understood that he or she had a responsibility towards the less fortunate and free medical care was the norm. Hardly anyone is aware of this today, since it doesn’t fit into the typical, by the script story of government rescuing us from a predatory private sector.

created it has responded by exponentially expanding the role of government.
Points to consider:
- No one has a right to medical care. If one assumes such a right, it endorses the notion that some individuals have a right to someone else’s life and property. This totally contradicts the principles of liberty.
- If medical care is provided by government, this can only be achieved by an authoritarian government unconcerned about the rights of the individual.
- Economic fallacies accepted for more than 100 years in the United States has deceived policy makers into believing that quality medical care can only be achieved by government force, taxation, regulations, and bowing to a system of special interests that creates a system of corporatism.
- More dollars into any monopoly run by government never increases quality but it always results in higher costs and prices.
- Government does have an important role to play in facilitating the delivery of all goods and services in an ethical and efficient manner.
- First, government should do no harm. It should get out of the way and repeal all the laws that have contributed to the mess we have.
- The costs are obviously too high but in solving this problem one cannot ignore the debasement of the currency as a major factor.
- Bureaucrats and other third parties must never be allowed to interfere in the doctor/patient relationship.
- The tax code, including the ERISA laws, must be changed to give everyone equal treatment by allowing a 100% tax credit for all medical expenses.
Laws dealing with bad outcomes and prohibiting doctors from entering into voluntary agreements with their patients must be repealed. Tort laws play a significant role in pushing costs higher, prompting unnecessary treatment and excessive testing. Patients deserve the compensation; the attorneys do not.- Insurance sales should be legalized nationally across state lines to increase competition among the insurance companies.
- Long-term insurance policies should be available to young people similar to term-life insurances that offer fixed prices for long periods of time.
- The principle of insurance should be remembered. Its purpose in a free market is to measure risk, not to be used synonymously with social welfare programs. Any program that provides for first-dollar payment is no longer insurance. This would be similar to giving coverage for gasoline and repair bills to those who buy car insurance or providing food insurance for people to go to the grocery store. Obviously, that could not work.
- The cozy relationship between organized medicine and government must be reversed.
Early on medical insurance was promoted by the medical community in order to boost re-imbursements to doctors and hospitals. That partnership has morphed into the government/insurance industry still being promoted by the current administration.- Threatening individuals with huge fines by forcing them to buy insurance is a boon to the insurance companies.
- There must be more competition for individuals entering into the medical field. Licensing strictly limits the number of individuals who can provide patient care. A lot of problems were created in 20th century as a consequence the Flexner Report (1910), which was financed by the Carnegie Foundation and strongly supported by the AMA. Many medical schools were closed and the number of doctors was drastically reduced. The motivation was to close down medical schools that catered to women, minorities and especially homeopathy. We continue to suffer from these changes which were designed to protect physician’s income and promote allopathic medicine over the more natural cures and prevention of homeopathic medicine.
- We must remove any obstacles for people seeking holistic and nutritional alternatives to current medical care. We must remove the threat of further regulations pushed by the drug companies now working worldwide to limit these alternatives.
True competition in the delivery of medical care is what is needed, not more government meddling: http://www.ronpaul.com/on-the-issues/health-care/
