Oliver Stone's New Movie: "Ukraine: The CIA Coup" Coming To A Theater Near You

US filmmaker Oliver Stone is currently engaged in production of a documentary about Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych, who fled the country following the February coup last year. As Sputnik reports, Stone's Facebook page notes, "[I] Interviewed Viktor Yanukovych 4 hours in Moscow for new English language documentary produced by Ukrainians. He [Yanukovych] was the legitimate President of Ukraine until he suddenly wasn't on February 22 of this year." The outspoken director then added, "the truth is not being aired in the West... many believe foreign elements were introduced by pro-Western factions with CIA fingerprints on it."

    From Oliver Stone's Facebook page,

Excuse my absence these past weeks. A combination of overwork, prepping the Snowden movie in Germany & England, a side trip to Moscow, and a devastating head cold have laid me low. Recovering over Christmas in California; winter sun helps.

Interviewed Viktor Yanukovych 4 hours in Moscow for new English language documentary produced by Ukrainians. He was the legitimate President of Ukraine until he suddenly wasn’t on February 22 of this year. Details to follow in the documentary, but it seems clear that the so-called ‘shooters’ who killed 14 police men, wounded some 85, and killed 45 protesting civilians, were outside third party agitators. Many witnesses, including Yanukovych and police officials, believe these foreign elements were introduced by pro-Western factions-- with CIA fingerprints on it.

Remember the Chavez ‘regime change’/coup of 2002 when he was temporarily ousted after pro and anti-Chavez demonstrators were fired upon by mysterious shooters in office buildings. Also resembles similar technique early this year in Venezuela when Maduro’s legally elected Government was almost toppled by violence aimed at anti-Maduro protestors. Create enough chaos, as the CIA did in Iran ‘53, Chile ‘73, and countless other coups, and the legitimate Government can be toppled. It’s America’s soft power technique called ‘Regime Change 101.’

In this case the “Maidan Massacre” was featured in Western media as the result of an unstable, brutal pro-Russian Yanukovych Government. You may recall Yanukovych went along with the February 21 deal with opposition parties and 3 EU foreign minsters to get rid of him by calling for early elections. The next day that deal was meaningless when well-armed, neo-Nazi radicals forced Yanukovych to flee the country with repeated assassination attempts. By the next day, a new pro-Western government was established and immediately recognized by the US (as in the Chavez 2002 coup).

A dirty story through and through, but in the tragic aftermath of this coup, the West has maintained the dominant narrative of “Russia in Crimea” whereas the true narrative is “USA in Ukraine.” The truth is not being aired in the West. It’s a surreal perversion of history that’s going on once again, as in Bush pre-Iraq ‘WMD’ campaign. But I believe the truth will finally come out in the West, I hope, in time to stop further insanity.

For a broader understanding, see Pepe Escobar’s analysis “The new European ‘arc of instability,’” which indicates growing turbulence in 2015, as the US cannot tolerate the idea of any rival economic entity. ‘CIA fingerprints’ all over Kiev massacre – Oliver Stone

The armed coup in Kiev is painfully similar to CIA operations to oust unwanted foreign leaders in Iran, Chile and Venezuela, said US filmmaker Oliver Stone after interviewing Ukraine’s ousted president for a documentary.

Stone spent four hours in Moscow talking to Viktor Yanukovich, who was deposed from power during the February 2014 coup, the filmmaker wrote on his Facebook page.

Oliver Stone: Ukrainians are suffering from US 'ideological crusade' against Russia

In response to those who took exception with his claims that the Ukrainian crisis involved “outside agitators,” Oliver Stone took to social media to advance his argument, saying that Ukrainians are the victims of a US strategy akin to Cold War 2.0.

This week, Stone stirred a political firestorm with his views on what he believed sparked the Ukrainian crisis, following a private interview with Viktor Yanukovich, the former Ukrainian president who was ousted in the February 2014 coup.

"It seems clear that the so-called ‘shooters’ who killed 14 policemen, wounded some 85 and killed 45 protesting civilians, were outside, third-party agitators,” Stone said, following his four-hour conversation with Yanukovich in Moscow. “Many witnesses, including Yanukovich and police officials, believe these foreign elements were introduced by pro-Western factions – with CIA fingerprints on it.”

According to the American-born filmmaker and writer, Ukraine is just the latest country in a long list to fall prey to “America’s soft power technique called ‘Regime Change 101.’”

    Will be interesting.
Why are we supporting Nazis ?
Why are we antagonizing a country that was once an ally against Nazis?

Why are so few asking this question?
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Who is 'we'? Got a mouse in your pocket?

Why are the CFR neocons in the federal government in the nest with Nazis? What's that old saying about birds of a feather?

This just in: Two news organizations owned by the Russian government say that Russians are good and Americans are bad. Also, a director who just made a movie about how Hugo Chavez was totally the greatest guy ever is making a completely unbiased movie about what happened in Ukraine.

    http://www.ronpaulinstitute.org/arch...-ukraine-coup/:

Famed Hollywood director Oliver Stone created a media storm this week with his statements about the February coup that ousted democratically elected Ukrainian leader Victor Yanukovych. Stone has concluded that the mysterious sniper fire that killed dozens and ultimately led to the overthrow was the work of outside agitators rather than of Yanukovich's security forces. The mainstream media and the US government claimed immediately that the horrific attacks were the work of Yanukovych's security personnel, underscoring the Western narrative that the Ukrainian president was a ruthless killer who lost all legitimacy when he ordered troops to fire on his own people.

In a statement issued by the White House on February 20th, the US administration said it was:

...outraged by the images of Ukrainian security forces firing automatic weapons on their own people.

Such US government claims have routinely been debunked and this one appears to be no different.

Stone was in Moscow working on a film about NSA whistleblower Ed Snowden when he interviewed the deposed president Yanukovych for a documentary he is also working on. According to Stone's research he believes the coup in Kiev was a classic CIA overthrow:

...it seems clear that the so-called ‘shooters’ who killed 14 police men, wounded some 85, and killed 45 protesting civilians, were outside third party agitators. Many witnesses, including Yanukovych and police officials, believe these foreign elements were introduced by pro-Western factions-- with CIA fingerprints on it.

He noted the similarities with other CIA overthrow operations such as the one that temporarily ousted Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, as well as Iran in 1953 and Chile in 1973. While the US and its allies have created the narrative that the crisis with Russia is about Russian actions in Crimea and Ukraine, the reality is that it has been the US that has been involved in Ukraine and which precipitated the crisis.

Faced with unexpected hostility over his post, Oliver Stone followed up with another statement clarifying that his conclusions had nothing to do with an affection for Yanukovich, who he said may well be the most corrupt president Ukraine ever had, but that the real point is the issue of US involvement in Ukraine's internal affairs. Wrote Stone today:

[T]here is ample evidence of pro-Western, third party interference, beginning with Victoria Nuland, John McCain, USAID, National Endowment for Democracy (who apparently organize very well on Facebook and Twitter), etc. Why for instance are so many policemen dead and wounded, and yet no one has investigated this in the new government?

Stone clearly understands how the regime change machine works, where the US politicians, government agencies, and government-funded "NGOs" work in concert toward a singular US government goal. Stone even understands how important the use of social media is to the regime changers. Recall how many times the State Department spokesperson would with a straight face inform journalists that evidence for US claims about a Russian invasion of Ukraine or the Russian shoot-down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH-17 could be found in "social media." Indeed, through such US government programs as the Alliance of Youth Movements and Movements.org, the US government actually trains activists overseas how to use social media to help overthrow their own governments.

Will Oliver Stone's fame and stature help create cracks in the wall of US government and mainstream media propaganda about the US role in the Ukrainian coup? We can only hope so.
