Things I recommend.

Marketing
Simply calling it "Veterans For Paul" or "Veterans Day Moneybomb" would not be considered good marketing no matter how you look at it. The target audience for a moneybomb is all Ron Paul supporters and the message must appeal to them. The only ones who would consider either of these as motivating would be veterans and possibly someone currently in the military. Themes such as "End the Wars" or "Bring the Troops Home" are all basic and would work combined with the date 11-11-11.

Other themes I would put out there are two phrases we all know. From the Declaration of Independence, "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." and from the military oath, "...do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic". I am sure a creative domain name could be created from either.

Don't rely on the Facebook event system.
Why? It sucks. It is fine to tap and utilize Facebook, but unless they drastically change how their events work, we should avoid it if possible. We should mostly use the pledge system on a website. It allows us to collect email addresses and easily remind them of the day. Losing the invite system is the downside of not using the Facebook events, but I think we should find a way to easily mass message supporters on Facebook instead. It would be much more effective as most people probably never even saw the Facebook invite given to them.

Lofty goals and guidance within the market
A primary differences between 2011 moneybombs and 2007 moneybombs is that in 2007, we urged people to donate a large sum of money. The goal of November 5th was $10 million and the pledge on the website was for $100. There were videos encouraging people to donate $100. Right now I think most people feel fine in simply donating a small amount when we need a large amount.

Don't ignore MySpace
MySpace is largely dying, but it still has a lot of known Ron Paul supporters on there and you have the option to email them via MySpace.

Phone banking
Calling past donors and known Ron Paul supporters should be done early. There was an effort the last moneybomb but it came entirely too late. If you notify them early, it gives them time to set aside the funds requested.

Advertise
Advertising that specifically targets places where Ron Paul supporters frequent is key, in my opinion. Yes, I mean pay for advertising. You can't expect to get something for free. Advertising will broaden our reach to people who do not frequent forums and Ron Paul sites.

I think the "END the WARS" theme for the 11-11-11 MoneyBomb simply cannot be beat. I think it's what Ron Paul himself would want.

I even made a fb profile banner "END the WARS" for a page that is less than two days old called "END the WARS", the pages interaction metric is 2 to 1. Twice as many people are talking about the page than have clicked the Like button. The page will really take off.

Combining data from Military Donations, with Veterans Day, 11-11-11, and an "END the WARS" theme leverages all of the other "END ... campaigns" as well.
