On a side note, does the flying public realizes the decisions that go into launching a flight.?.
Nope. The pilots will not go with inadequate fuel, routing, maintenance, etc.
Are passengers willing to give that up to a bean counter on the ground?
Are people so naive that me, as a pilot with decades of experience, will stop a flight if I deem it outside of safety parameters?
They will complain that they are gonna miss their business meeeting.
I can only counter that my job is to get them there alive.

That is some stupid shit. If I were flying, that flight would have made it to it's destination.
I spent my career flying in "unusual " attitudes, etc. before coming to commercial aviation. (I was a fighter pilot and later and instructor in high performance jets)
Their inability is embarrassing.
Go ahead, thinking you are safe with remote piloted vehicles. Remind me again how many of them crash...
Yes, American carriers lack in customer service. We can't fire the old hags. But our pilots are the best, and will get to your destination safely.
