From a personal liberty standpoint, the idea that an armed citizenry is the ultimate check on the ambitions and encroachments of government power is curious. The Whiskey Rebellion of the 1790s, the New York draft riots of 1863, the coal miners’ rebellion of 1921, the Brink’s robbery of 1981 — does any serious conservative think of these as great moments in Second Amendment activism?

The Brinks robbery was committed by the BLA, who were in now way conservative.

Gun violence is not respective to gun ownership, but poverty and ghettoizing.

Yes, it is a sad reality that thousands upon thousands of people die each year due to varying causes, as well others are saved or spared too.

A nation cannot defeat another nation by missile strikes alone, a boots on the ground invasion must ensue.

Get it repealed by 3/4 of the states.

Bret Stephens has been staring out the Overton Window from his posh echo chamber his entire career, as far back as I can search; he might as well be a random op generator and not a critical, skeptical mind. I sent him some love via twitter, because he's vewy scayewd Trump will crack down on the MSM. I comforted his conscience that the Tyrant's rage is simply karma for plunging us into limitless, unconditional war with the world and ourselves. That instead of Daniel Pearl, "free speech" definitively died with Gary Webb (sense he's a fellow of some Daniel Pearl foundation).

I also asked what his fetish is with missiles and standing armies... how much collateral have we taken for persecuting the global wars on crime, drugs, and terror... Basically echoing our thoughts, and using some of our excellent libertarian memes from @Origanalist to embarrass himself in front of his liberal and conservative followers. He'll never read them, but somebody will. Its all good guys lol

Could the neocons be cencerned that there would be no more guns left to be sent for freedom spread projects in Syria, Benghazi, Iraq etc if more Americans got guns at home?


If so, their concerns won't be grounded in reality.
