I remember reading somewhere that Ron Paul said that he paid for his tuition at Duke University through working nights and summers. No loans were required.
I can't seem to find back up on google, no surprises there, but can anyone else remember this or, more specifically, where he stated this.
I do remember this, don't have any articles about it, sorry.
At that time, it was very feasible to do this, very different than now.
Tuition wasn't equivalent to buying multiple houses in Beverly Hills.

I was able to pay for college working part time minimum wage... things are certainly different now.

Amid such rising costs, borrowing for college is at record levels. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York says students and parents took out a record $100 billion last year, and owe more on student loans -- more than $1 trillion is outstanding -- than credit cards.
