I hope they lose and Biden goes ahead. Why? Glad you asked. Because this will be yet another anecdotal pixel in the grand image of Theire evil. The average man has shown his utter refusal to face truth, at least thus far. It appears to me that the only hope lies in driving conditions to ever more dire states. Where is "the line"? We're screwed in any event, so why prolong the agony? Let this bitch come apart... or find that line where people finally realize they hae nothing to lose by stopping their lives and facing the tyrant, cleavers in hand and ready to do whatever it takes to defend their interests from Theire predations. War isn't coming. We are smack in the middle of it, and have been for decades. End games are on the near horizon, or so it seems to me. I may be mistaken, but I find it very difficult to accept that this enormous confluence of global calamities could be even remotely likely, actuarially speaking. Seems to me that the human race is going to go meekly to its doom at the behest of the globalist beasts. Much as I try, I find it difficult to grasp why we're doing it.

It appears that rather bad things loom on the not-distant horizon. Two years of effectively shutting off the world economy does not come without consequence. Consider that China is no longer exporting fertilizer. Dozens of facilities for the production of basic commodities have gone up in flame, from foods to energy. Hand those occurrences to the actuaries and see what they would have to say about the odds of all that happening in the numbers and time frame. We are being set up like bowling pins. Michael Yon seems to suspect that we have passed the economic tipping point. If he is correct, and I cannot find too much in his assumptions and logic that would strongly suggest otherwise, then great woes are inevitable, and not far off. Consider the utter disaster unfolding in Sri Lanka. I've been in the software game a long time and one thing you never do is a flash cut into a major dot release. You ease into them, module by module and wait to see how things go so that you can readily back out in the case something proves verily amiss. So then ask yourself how could it be that the "government" in Sri Lanka bid their entire agricultural establishment cut over 100% to "organic" farming from one season to the next? NOBODY is that stupid, not even Sri Lankan "government" people. Therefore, this had to have been the product of informed malice. Can't be proven, so I will not beat that horse. But the fact remains that they are staring down the barrel of a punt-gun. When the famine comes, twenty million people will be wailing, gnashing their teeth, and perhaps eating their neighbors. The filthy Dutch "government" has bid their farmers divest themselves of their cattle herds. Nederland is a dairy nation. My aunt is Dutch and she is appalled at what is happening. At 96, she sees with clear eyes what is going on and just yesterday told me that Brussels is attempting to kill off the indigenous Dutch in favor of the invading Muslim horde.

I doubt Biden's handlers, et al. are going to split hairs over pesky little details like what happened when. They'll either refuse to recognize Putin's dibs, or they'll grandfather in Ukraine from the Before Times. Or both.

Democracy on the scale of a continent-spanning third of a billion people - encompassing a variety of geographies, demographics, and economies - will not and can not ever be "representative" of anything or anyone except the interests of the people in power and the institutions they have erected (and their various cronies and rent-seeking hangers-on). No number of political parties (or electoral reforms, or what-have-you) will ever change that simple and necessary fact. Divided we stand. United we fall. "A united populace is the ultimate and explicit goal of every totalitarian state." -- Michael Malice

I may have posted this before, but it bears repetition... or so I like to flatter myself. We are living in historic times, which means not only are certain things tough, but that we stand at a nexus, our choices likely to affect the quality of our lives from this point forward, as well as those of our posterity for long years and decades to come. It therefore behooves us to make our choices carefully. Let us go not from pan into fire, but rather let us move with strong and intelligent force to preserve our liberty and cultivate it towards ever greater perfection. This would prove a diametric departure from what we have been doing since at least the time of the Civil War, since which we have gone in the precise opposite direction, allowing those in positions of practical power to ever elide our Rights, most often under the pretext of some crisis, real or conjured. To that end, I propose we call an Article V Convention of the states and in that forum, put forth for ratification a Twenty Eighth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. This Amendment specifies in clear language the duties, obligations, and responsibilities of integrity and performance to which all sworn Public servants must adhere and comport themselves during their tenures as such. Amendment 28 further specifies the punishments to be meted in cases where such servants, the Instruments of "state" and "government", violate their oaths of good faith and competent service. Those punishments are severe, to say the least, often including long prison sentences at hard labor, and may include death as the ultimate penalty. In addition, their families shall not rest immune in any case where they may be deemed as having shared culpability in the relevant crimes, profited from them in any way whatsoever, regardless of how indirectly, or having had even the least hint of something being amiss, failed to report their suspicions to the people.

I first read him in the early 90's when he was telling all the End of History types that they were full of shit and that Interstate disputes would continue despite American Hegemony. Also read his and Walts book on the Israeli lobby and how it effects foreign policy. He's a very smart guy.

Yep. And he and Ritter are buddies. Weird isn't it. I'm not going to split hairs. Prof Mearsheimer has made and makes the argument in defense of Russian interests on all counts for over a generation.. I'm not throwing out all conclusions he makes based on Realist theory. On another note. This video is worth watching. Lines up with what Ritter, McGregor and some others are suggesting too. I think he's full of crap about suggesting the the West ever suggested they would start a nuclear war, but he's spot on about alot of the main points.

Not really surprising. Few understand contracts and either kowtow, or walk, most doing the former. So if the occasional smart guy crosses their path, their inner pragmatists enjoin them to let it go because it just isn't worth the fight.

Well certainly that is so. I'm not sure it would take all that much convincing. That said, secession is the punk move. Making what we have into a workable free land is the right move, but we won't do it because we are all too rotten to commit and remain intelligent about it all.

Ignorance of contracts is almost universal. Constitution is NOT a contract. Then there are the idiotic references to the "social contract", another utter fantasy. Generally speaking, human beings are rotten-stoopid.

But here's the crux. Scott Ritter Mearsheimer and Steven Walt come from the same school of belief on international politics. Ritter isn't the academic expert, but he developed his beliefs based on his experience. I find it kind of strange that you don't know this. He quotes him often. He has been involved in lectures and seminars since the early 2000's with both men speaking on these issues. I think you might need to rethink calling Mearsheimer and idiot. These guys have been right about the whole damn course of international politics for decades. I was reading Mearsheimer and Walt in my college days. There are very few International Relations thinkers who are as clear and as accurate on what causes international conflict than these two guys. Nobody is 100% truth. Ritter is great, but just because it aligns with your belief so much doesn't make it absolute. I am not going to nitpick Ritter's false assumptions and analysis. That' throwing the baby out with the bath water. He's very spot on about the overall situation. I agree with you on that. But they are all from the same school of analysis.

I don't understand why McConnell and people like him are called "RINOs". They are not RINOs. They are 100 percent Republican. It's people like Ron Paul, Thomas Massie, and Rand Paul who are the RINOs. (Hell, Ron Paul has even said openly that the only reason he even ran as a Republican is because that's what gave him the best chance of winning his district.)

Who should we be listening to in order to learn about the International relations situation in this region then? If Professor Mearsheimer isn't the one, I'm all ears on your recommedation.
