Yeah but this ruling could start causing exemptions to taxes to be removed. If they "simplify" the tax code that means all of the loopholes and other beneficial work arounds may disappear, at least temporarily. That's my concern.

So there are many more tax friendly places than the US where they will indeed just mostly leave you alone. But the problem is none of these places really allow much in the way of private firearm ownership. Point being is that everyone says the republic is dead after this election, and honestly it died a long time ago. There will not be major sweeping and drastic changes under any new administration most likely, they don't really have the power for that and people don't like swift change anyway. It will however continue to be a long slow decline... at least until the currency collapses under its own weight. Best thing you can do? Acquire wealth, acquire skills, acquire assets, move to a deep red state. That will give you the best protection against any shenanigans in the future.
