Thomas comes to the same conclusion that I have... the federal government is not reformable. As long as the money printer exists it is impossible to significantly change the federal government's course.
That could make a lot of sense but it could also be a huge risk.
He has a lot of power/seniority in the House and wouldn't want to give it up. But also he has the Liz Cheney faction and the Trump faction coming after him and to win a primary you need one or the other on your side. In KY it would be hard for Thomas to run against someone that Trump endorsed. Not impossible, but very difficult.
When it's at the state legislative level, yes, actually, it can make a difference. Sometimes just a few dozen e-mails will be enough to change a state legislator's mind on a particular vote.
The vice president will announce the launch of the first-ever National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center, which will aim to help states effectively implement red-flag laws through training and technical assistance. The center will be funded through a Department of Justice grant stemming from the bipartisan gun control bill that President Biden signed into law in 2022.
Harris also will announce an official call to action for states to pass red-flag laws and to use the resources from the bipartisan gun control bill to implement them.

There is a lot of Keynesian nonsensical BS in this video, but there conclusion that China might be about to start a trade war in order to help it's domestic economy is worth considering...
