https://entertainment.slashdot.org/story/17/11/17/2147214/fcc-approves-next-gen-atsc-30-tv-standard Why should you be concerned? Who cares if they know what you watch? By having access to as little as videos you watch, you give them the ability to determine your race, sexual orientation, political bias, gender, age, and a plethora of other things about you. In and of itself, that wouldnt be an issue except that the data about you is sold to those who can use that information to increase prices of seemingly unrelated things like health, car, homeowner / renter insurance, costs for goods and services you buy online. You are the one paying for them to give your data away because when there is a financial incentive to "find something wrong", they most undoubtedly will. Now, as far as that internet ready toilet paper...

I'd have to say yes they are. Silicon Valley is now akin to what Big Oil used to be. In fact, Data Mining as an industry, you know, all the shit they record about everything that you do, then sell it, is now BIGGER than Big Oil. So it should come as no surprise that they have intentionally built the infrastructure of your digital prison. But it goes even deeper. Fascism can be most easily described as a merger between government and corporations. According to Princeton, in a governmental system where politicians views represented the will of the people, if 0% of the people supported a particularly nasty bill, then 0% of the votes in govt would be for that system. Opposite of that is if 100% of the people supported a bill, then 100% of the votes in govt would be for that bill. What we have is about 30% of the bills get passed, regardless how much or how little support it has by the public. Smaller bills that dont really matter too much to the public tend to benefit either govt or corporations. The Princeton Study shows that the people in power truly do NOT care what the people want. And that holds true until you get to the top 1%. When you look at the richest 1% of people, then and only then does the voting pattern of govt officials match the will. Govt represents the rich, showing just how incredibly Fascist this country has become. Understanding that corporations truly run this country, you can only understand that they are the ones to build the tools that will support their industry, which is the suppression of your rights against theirs. And the most effective way to do that is to build a Surveillance Society and call it "Social Networking". What people give away for free becomes the very thing that enslaves them to those in power. ---

Search results by trackers will always manipulate data to what they think you should be looking at and not what is really important. What is really important too often relies on search results that you may not necessarily agree with, which actually expands your perspective even if you dont agree with it. The expansion of a persons perspective for an idea that is disagreed upon can also come from you gaining the ability to express why the opposed idea does not work. Limiting your search results is really a "Thought Bubble" where people do not have any new ideas to expand their minds. Google tells you what to think and more importantly limits your mind to what you are allowed to think.

I just edited that post, original part you quoted is still present. Getting rid of fiat can not stop unequal wealth distribution in whole, but it can aid in the survival of this country which is a bit more important, and eliminating fiat currency can greatly aid in reducing unequal wealth distribution. Every country that has relied on fiat currency has collapsed. We are no different.

The problem IS what we use for money. That is what enables those who print money to abuse it. And that is exactly why I have refrained from giving you a +rep; more because you continue to not only refuse to address what the source of the problem is, but support the existence of the problem. Also a big part of why you have, holy shit, you have more -REP than all but one member, but 35 times more posts. --- For everyone else: What we are going to be using for money is also very important as it is exactly what fuels the Surveillance State.

Not by honest work, thats for sure. No, they benefited from the printing of money where they get to spend that "new" money at the old value before it trickles down to those at the bottom who can only spend that "new" money after the value has adjusted "itself" to inflation. They force more money out of the poor, then expect the poor to pay for any differences in costs while not fairly compensating those that work and produce. Make me a million dollars a day and I'll pay you minimum wage and wont give you insurance. No, the rich get richer by dodging paying out anything. They use Tax Havens so they dont pay any taxes on the bacon they bring home. Those at the bottom pay the difference. They dont offer meaningful jobs or employment. If they paid more, they couldnt afford to own several continent sized yachts. They charge you $88 per aspirin that you can get a bottle of $500 for at Walmart, while the people that produce the aspirin for Walmart are paid China's equivalent of minimum wage, or whatever they get paid, rest assured it is less than you get paid. They outsource tech jobs to people in India that also get paid both jack and shit, and jack left town. Worst of all, they buy out the politicians as a way to bolster their business, which prevents you from doing anything else but servicing them.

Dont forget the flip side. You'll now be a criminal if you do not dispose of expired medications exactly in a manner they tell you to do so. That means NO FLUSHING EXPIRED PILLS. And definitely do not just throw them in the garbage. Actually, if you happen to give those pills to someone else instead of taking them, that also makes you a criminal because you'll be Dealing Drugs. - John Adams Turning every single person in this country into a criminal seems to be the goal. The difference between a Criminal and a Law Abiding Citizen is just the flip of a pen, and the ability to prove with certainty that a person conducted the action deemed illegal.

But, Im not surprised in the slightest either. What I wanna know is how they are gonna collect this data when Satellite TV does not require internet, or access to a Microphone and Camera. Yeah, what could possibly go wrong there? "Must be able to access your TV's built in Camera and Microphone AT ALL TIMES!" There used to be a joke about TV in Russia watching you. Now, it is a reality and they act like it is a good thing. Hmm, I wonder who could possibly stand to benefit from having access to directly monitor you 24 / 7? Maybe Law Enforcement? Maybe Insurance? Maybe your Employer? System of TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT. And you are expected to pay for your own chains.

If you continue to express things like that, and understand that those same people make tremendous efforts to manipulating us both into doing their dirty work, then you may have a chance of digging yourself out of your Reputation Hell. Before I give you any +Reps however, an acknowledgement that our money system is fully dishonest and is a major part of the problem. I dont really care if you post it, but I think it is very important that you recognize the true nature of what our money system is, and that those who control it are one of, if not the most dangerous threat to humanity.

"For evil to triumph, all it takes is for good men to do nothing." First, I'll assume the use of the word "men" refers to human, so no gender bias there. (Mostly for other readers.) What is happening is that people are being taught Complacency. Look, Im being "spied on" 24 / 7 and nothing happened to me. When people are exploited to constantly give up the most personal and intimate details of their lives, they will have less objections if other lesser persona details are monitored. The mind typically views sex as the most private of information, and needs to be protected and hidden from external parties at all costs. The real value here isnt the observation of sex itself, but acclimation of complacency in the mindset of the surveilled. Once people are conditioned to be used to having every sexual act recorded in detail, efforts to hide other "less important" things, such as your financial transactions or other much more incriminating and damnable offenses, like eating bacon or not brushing your teeth enough will be greatly diminished. The mind has a desire to hide sexual encounters, even though it is much less likely to influence a persons behavior. However, everything else that the mind deems "less important" to hide than sex has the potential to be that much less damaging. Its just that the mind has less of a subconscious desire to protect what information you either read or express on the internet. For example, Google knowing you made a post in opposition to their internet dominance is worth money to them, because others that buy that information also profit or benefit by being paid to influence your behavior away from opposing being controlled. And typically, that is done with your own money. For example, post something negative about Fedbook and you see your insurance goes up, other costs in your life also go up, or your income goes down. That is how the funding works. You pay for it. You pay fines for giving away details about yourself. Sure, people want to feel connected. It is the way in which we connect that is meaningful.

The sarcasm is funny, but also exactly what is expected from most people, including myself. But, there is a good point in the underlying text. "These are the people you need us to protect you from" which is a distraction that prevents focus from being placed on those who truly benefit. Now, just out of curiosity Zippy, WHO are the people that truly benefit from Totalitarianism?

What is this for? It is because every detail of your personal life is worth money to those who know how to manipulate that data, and they are willing to pay companies a small percentage of their profits of selling your data to the company that collects your data, including extremely detailed information about your sex life. What is it really for? Absolute and complete control of you. Want to go against the status quo? Well, they can just send the MSM the data on your sex habits and Guilt Shame you into obedience. Works well on most people, but a few wont be bothered by it. But those that arent bothered by it will be shunned by society as a result of it. So it isnt just about manipulation of your behavior directly, but manipulation of your society to turn them against you. Divide and conquer. And I think we all know for the most part that generally people think what they are taught to think. The other problem is that there are no clearly defined sets of standards, as those "standards" change with every single party. That is one of the big reasons I continue to point out to people that "The Difference between Right and Wrong is Subjective". If you drink Pepsi, you are not supporting Coca Cola. If you drink Coca Cola, then you are not supporting Pepsi. And both will do everything in their power to manipulate you in to buying their products without changing the quality of the products themselves. Of course, this in and of itself is an illusion. The Illusion of Choice. The psychological result that could very easily be interpreted as being intended by a parent corporation of two opposing corporations is that the individual begins to question their own decision making ability. By introducing that self doubt, there is a vector for a psychological attack to create emotional dependency of the individual to the parent corporation. It would be as if you were taught by Fox News to have total distrust of the New York Post, and likewise, by the New York Post to distrust Fox News. The illusion here is that both are owned by Viacom. That type of Brand Loyalty is given either to Fox or New York Post, thus being the Illusion of Choice. Viacom wont give two shits whether you agree with Fox News or New York Times, as long as you comply with ONE of the points of view. This also fully explains our two party political system. It doesnt matter whether you buy into either the Democrat perspective, or Republican one, just so long as you support Big Government. I've also often said that the RULERS of this world use three basic means of controlling the people: Belief, Money, and Violence. I think everyone here (except Zippy) is fully aware that Money is NOT controlled by our Govt, but by Banks. Reason for this is that Govt itself IS Violence. Belief comes partly from MSM as well as Religion (no debate on existence of God, but whether or not a Church can be exploited to have the same effect: control), and Education.

Is a Future Revolution Possible Without Privacy?

by DamianTV on 03-11-2013 at 02:16 PM
(This was a post that I slightly edited to make sense by itself. The original post is here.)

Very few people are looking toward the Future when Privacy is Impossible. But if Privacy is completely gone, will a Revolution even be possible?

Google GlASS might be able to record what you do right now as a video, but this will only be the first in a long series of progressively privacy invading advancements. One of them inevitably will be Google Contact Lenses. However,
