I know my ancestry thingy said I'm a little bit injun. (Probably related to uncle @oyarde somehow) I'll have to dig into my family tree to find the specifics one day. But lol @ Pocohantas Warren. :D https://www.cherokee.org/News/Stories/20181015_Cherokee-Nation-responds-to-Senator-Warrens-DNA-test TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. issued the following statement Monday in response to Senator Elizabeth Warren’s DNA test claiming Native Heritage: "A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America," Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. said. "Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation. Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong. It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven. Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage." Cherokee Nation News Release For Media Inquiries: Julie Hubbard 918-207-3896

Your description is apt for a high school council, but not for the state or federal level. Political parties are businesses and candidates are their products. If customers' preferences change, then businesses will either change their products or they will be outmaneuvered by new entrants who better meet demand. No; I'm not corrupt, and therefore politics is unprofitable for me.

Exactly, see, you don't have a fucking clue what Trump is doing. He is filling the supreme court with people who are stronger on the 2nd amendment than anybody currently on the court. He can say he is going to do whatever he wants for political advantage, but he is ultimately protecting our gun rights in the longterm. Worst case scenario, bump stocks are illegal for a short time until a court makes the correction. He's already getting beaten by the left and the media from 100 different directions, last thing he needs is people throwing buckets of blood on right wing politicians and shit while he is trying to get other things done.

Which we need to talk to Congress about. Republicans only complain about deficits when they are not in charge.

ONE year ago Alyssa Milano, an American actress, posted on Twitter: “If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted write ‘me too’ as a reply to this tweet.” Within 24 hours she had received more than 500,000 responses using the hashtag “#MeToo”. Ms Milano’s tweet came days after the New York Times and New Yorker had published detailed allegations of sexual harassment by Harvey Weinstein, a Hollywood producer. Mr Weinstein was the first in a long line of prominent entertainers and executives to be toppled by such investigations, which dominated the headlines throughout late 2017 (see chart below). Even as these stories broke, it was #MeToo that resonated most on social media, as millions of women shared their experiences of abuse, intimidation and discrimination. In the past 12 months, the hashtag has been tweeted 18m times according to Keyhole, a social-media analytics company. The phrase has come to encapsulate the idea of sexual misconduct and assault. In recent months American journalists have used the hashtag in their articles more frequently than they have mentioned “sexual harassment”, according to Meltwater, a media analytics company. Yet surveys suggest that this year-long storm of allegations, confessions and firings has actually made Americans more sceptical about sexual harassment. In the first week of November 2017, YouGov polled 1,500 Americans about their attitudes on the matter, on behalf of The Economist. In the final week of September 2018, it conducted a similar poll again. When it came to questions about the consequences of sexual assault and misconduct, there was a small but clear shift against victims. The share of American adults responding that men who sexually harassed women at work 20 years ago should keep their jobs has risen from 28% to 36%. The proportion who think that women who complain about sexual harassment cause more problems than they solve has grown from 29% to 31%. And 18% of Americans now think that false accusations of sexual assault are a bigger problem than attacks that go unreported or unpunished, compared with 13% in November last year. (According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Centre, an American non-profit organisation, 63% of sexual assaults are not reported to police, whereas between 2% and 10% of assault cases are falsely reported.)

So you think that the Democrats can take over two thirds of the Senate? https://nccs.net/blogs/articles/the-impeachment-process There are 35 Senate seats up for election but 26 of those are currently held by Democrats. Assuming they get the other nine in a clean sweep (not likely), they would have 58 (and assuming that the two independents vote with them). They would still need nine Republicans to vote with them to remove their own party members from the office of President. And unless both were impeached at the exact same time, in the event that the President is removed, the Vice President becomes President and as President gets to name his replacement who would also likely be Republican (subject to approval from Congress). It only goes to the Speaker of the House if something happened to both at the same time.

I'm right there with you. I'm voting straight Republican this go around. Not because I care for them. Because, I cannot abide the left in the least since. Don't have a libertarian to vote for so I just don't care. Hopefully, a smack down will give the Democrats pause. Doubt it.

Nothing new for Matthew...wasn't he the one preaching to all of us how we should work within the system, learns it's ways and means through study and expensive political theory classes? Look, I need a Representative that is actually IN government. I'm sure you and I could each represent each other on 99 out of 100 issues. But it does no fucking good to have the representative sitting with you at the bar sipping bourbon while we bitch at other about how fucked up government is. Right now, at this time in history, I'd rather have somebody that I agree with 80 percent of the time actually IN government and able to DO something, or more correctly STOP something, than somebody I agree with 100 percent who is outside just like me and can do nothing.

MY side..... I have done none of those things. I have only fired up on a few who have called me names & accused me of stuff I have never done- like you are doing right now. I have called out Trump. I have not mocked anyone, or supported impeachment. My experience is that the name-callers & mockers are YOUR side.

You are not going to get everything you want in every elected politician. He's not becoming more and more like the others. It is a false statement. At best an over the top exaggeration. You're just an idiot. Don't know why I even bother except to dispel your F.U.D. He's a Senator advancing liberty as he can. You're not. Get over it.

I know you mean well, but I'd appreciate it if you would avoid engaging people like Sola in this thread who are clearly only there to be rude and derail. Perhaps take it to PMs or another thread. Thanks! ~hugs~
